!!END-DATA!!
BRIEF SUMMARY OF EVENTS
-----------------------
Solar activity today was moderate. The only notable event of the day
was a minor class M1.3 flare at 21:25 UT. Preliminary data is unable to
establish an optical correlation for this event, due to poor observing
conditions at the available observatories. This flare was associated with a
245 MHz burst of 2,600 sfu, although no tenflare was observed.
Region 6919 (S12E10) experienced some growth in spot area. The large
leading spot was also observed splitting today. This region remains the
largest and most complex region presently visible. It is a DKI optical group
with a beta-delta magnetic configuration. This region as well as Region 6921
(N09W00) are capable of spawning minor M-class flares. Region 6921 showed a
slight increase in magnetic complexity. Region 6915 (N20W35) was observed
decaying. However, it did produce isolated subflares.
A single new region was assigned near the west limb. Region 6925 is
located at S05W72.
The geomagnetid field was quiet to active today. Overall activity was
generally quiet to unsettled. Conditions should remain mostly unsettled over
the next 24 hours with possible weak episodes of active conditions.
HF propagation conditions have been normal to slightly below normal
throughout most of the UT day over all regions. Conditions should continue
near normal over most regions over the next 48 hours at least.
