!!END-DATA!!
NOTE: A sudden magnetic impulse was observed at 01:24 UT on 05 November.
Geomagnetic activity is near the minor storm threshold at the present time.
The source may be related to the M9.0/1B flare or the M4.8 LDE event observed
on 02 November. The geomagnetic activity forecasts given for the 24-48 hour
periods may be incorrect.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF EVENTS
-----------------------
Solar activity was moderate. Region 6892 produced a class M1.0/SF event
from just beyond the west limb at 04:55 UT. Another class M3.3 event was
also observed at 23:27 UT. Region 6891 departed the west limb today. Solar
activity is expected to be mostly low over the next 24 hours, with a slight
chance for an isolated M-class event.
An eruptive loop prominence system was observed in Region 6908 (N21E80)
associated with a C7/SF event at 11:56 UT. This region just rotated into
view earlier today and has not been extensively analyzed yet. It does not
appear to be particularly impressive.
Two new regions were numbered today: Region 6910 (S18E26) and Region
6911 (N17E22).
Geomagnetic activity remained quiet to unsettled over the middle
latitude regions today. High latitudes experienced mostly active conditions
with a few brief isolated storm periods also reported. Very recent data
shows a sudden magnetic impulse which was observed at 01:24 UT on 05
November. This activity may be related to one of the M-class flares observed
on 02 November. The geomagnetic field is approaching the minor storm
threshold and may surpass it over the next 24 hours.
HF propagation conditions are near normal over many regions. However,
we continue to receive reports of degraded conditions over many middle
latitude areas. Post-storm recovery may be set back by the recent unexpected
increase in geomagnetic activity.
