BRIEF SUMMARY OF EVENTS
-----------------------
The largest flare in several days erupted today from Region 6824
(S20W21). The high level C-class flare was rated a class C9.4/1N event at
14:28 UT. This region has been rapidly decaying over the last 24 hours and
will soon be incapable of producing anything more significant than simple
subflares.
Region 6834 (N09E27) was the only new region numbered today. All of the
other regions presently visible were dormant.
Flare activity will remain low. There are not expected to be any
M-class flares from any of the regions presently visible.
Geomagnetic activity was quiet to unsettled today. The field is
expected to remain mostly quiet to unsettled for the next 48 hours at least.
Auroral activity has been very dormant. Only a few high latitude
locations have reported any visible diffuse aurorae.
HF propagation conditions were good to very good from the equatorial to
the middle latitude regions. Conditions have been near normal (fair to good)
over the high latitude regions. All regions equatorward of the high
latitudes will continue to experience normal to above normal propagation
conditions. High and polar latitudes will observe slightly better
propagation conditions over the next 48 hours as residual geomagnetic
activity diminishes.
