STANDARD (CHRONOLOGICAL) RESUME FORMAT |
|
This option offers the following sections for inclusion in your resume. |
You may choose the order provided or move the sections around to create |
your own order. You can even leave sections out. (If you have no |
experience in any of the sections, the heading is automatically deleted |
from your resume.) Remember, you may create as many "electronic" resumes |
as you want without wasting any paper! So try a few combinations to "what-|
if" your way to the resume that you like best. |

|
ACCOMPLISHMENT RESUME FORMAT |
|
This option adds a section that highlights specific accomplishments |
you entered in your Personal History file for Present and Past work |
experience. The exact format order may be selected by you, as in the |
Standard format. |

TARGETED RESUME FORMAT |
|
|
|
|
This option allows you to focus your resume on skills you select. It |
composes the summary, selects accomplishments, training, and other items |
that reflect the skills you target. Education and experience chronology |
remain the same as for other resume formats. |
|
By targeting your resume, you may create many different versions of your |
resume from the same personal history file. For example, you may apply for |
three diverse occupations: teaching, computer analysis, and professional |
water polo. You may "target" your resumes by selecting the skills that go |
with each of those occupations, producing resumes that make you look like |
a specialist in each of those areas. |

USE THIS ORDER / CREATE NEW ORDER / QUIT |
|
When we first figured out that we weren't always right, and that |
you might prefer to think a little for yourself, we realized that |
you probably have an opinion about how you want your resume to look. |
Sensitive as we are, we worked long hard hours to prepare this |
selection routine for you to put your resume in TIP TOP form! |
|
Selecting the order is as simple as moving the lightbar with |
the cursor or arrow keys on your numeric keypad to the section |
you want, and pressing the SPACEBAR. A number will appear to the |
left of the section you just selected, indicating the order the |
sections will appear on your resume. When you have finished |
selecting, press RETURN. The "Are you sure?" message will appear. |
|
If you change your mind, enter "N" when the "Are you sure?" |
message appears at the bottom of your screen and repeat the |
process. |
|
|
FORWARD PAGE / BACK PAGE / PRINT / QUIT |
|
Forward Page: Lets you scroll forward through your entire resume on the |
screen so you know what it looks like before you print it |
out. (Most resumes are too long to be displayed all on one |
screen) |
|
Back Page : Lets you scroll backwards (like turning the pages of a book |
from the back to the front) to see the parts or your resume |
that were already displayed on the screen. |
|
Print : Prints your resume in its entirety. Be sure your printer is |
attached and on-line before you select this option. If it is |
not, and your computer locks up, simply shut it off, then |
begin again. It will not affect the contents of your |
personal history file. |
|
Quit : Lets you return to the Print/Display menu. |
