--------------------------------------------------------------------
The following is a complete history of the Cheet Sheets mag for all
you new users who want to get the complete lowdown on it.If some of
you are wondering why everyone else has got either an internet
address or Email, it is because I haven't got round to getting one.
Ok,but I will soon. Ok I confess I am a new user.
I have only read the mag for 2 months and I have already talked to
the Sysop recieved numurous messages AND downloaded and Uploaded all
the Cheet Sheets old issues. So here it is:
Hello Again!, this is Kevin Gorasia speaking to you. This is a
complete history of the Cheet Sheets BBS.
I was starting to get board. So I decided to do a review of the board.
Firstly the number is 01822 833765.It is located in Cornwall and is
run by a very nice person called Wayne Roberts he is the
editor/founder. He is the person who runs the Cheet Sheets magazine.
The Cheet Sheets mag is in its 41st issue. It is a computersied mag
that deals in Cheats in games, reviews and ads. When Cheet Sheets
first started up. Wayne was only getting a regular collection of
cheats. And the mag was only passed on by basic circulation.
(friends, family e.t.c). Then about 6 months later. PC Home offered
to feature his latest issue on there Cover CD. And hallelugh! His
mag was now being read by a few thousand extra users!. Wow you might
think, but that's not it finished yet!.
Between all this Wayne done a number of things. Firstly there was a
regular reader of Cheet Sheets. It was during the Xmas holidays and
he was a bit bored. So he sat down at his computer (482Dx2 66mhz
probably (nope, Ed)). And wrote an interface for the Cheet Sheets
magazine. It was for Windows (was it ?, Ed), but was not very
successful there was problem after problem, with the ease of use etc.
SO the person who wrote the Windows Interface then tried to do a DOS
interface, This really made a difference!
Now for the mag instead of the boring old text format. There was a
new graphical interface with cool music and everything neatly laid
out and accessable. The name of that person was Neil Gorin. He done
it all no one helped him write it. He is THE PROGRAMMER!!. How do
you think Wayne felt!
Secondly Wayne setup the Cheet SHeets BBS.
This contained tons and tons of Cheats and Tips of all the games.
Anything any user uploads. Old or New providing it is something he
hasn't got. He will put it on his board. There is a subcription
fee to get access to most good files. The early issues of the mag
are FREE uploads, also Games, updates, and extras are also FREE.
There is also the latest Issue of Overflow. I thinK this is a
compilation of something like 5 Cheet Sheet issues (nope, just the
stuff I can't be bothered to edit , Ed). When you first log on to
the Cheet Sheets board. It asks you for your name and your password.
When you have typed that in. That's it! You can look at the files!.
The menu screen is done in quite neat looking ANSI. It is VERY hard
to get lost in that. At the main menu screen. There are 7-8 options.
There is File Listing option that takes you to the Files Screen.
A message and a PAge option where you can either write a message to
another user or the SySop you could even write a message to ME!. Most
of the Board is currently being rearranged.
Wayne had a lighting strike between October-September and his modem
was wiped out. All the files are slowely returning to the BBS.
Right back to the menu Screen. Right at the bottom are 3 options
Time Bank,Log off and Subscritions. Do I really have to tell you
what these really do?.
Press [F] and it takes you to the file menu. Here there are a number
of functions. Pressing [A] takes you to choose which area you want
to look at and tag and download files. At the start if you haven't
Subscribed. You can't download many files, this is to basically make
sure that you don't take advantage of the huge collection available.
There are 20 Areas in all. With things like patches, Cheats, Tips,
Solves even a special SubS area. If there isn't the thing you want
just leave a message to the Sysop and he will do his best to get it
on for you within 2-3 days. The hours for the BBS are 3:00pm - 9am.
If the BBS is offline then ring Wayne via voice and he maybe more
than happt to stick it online. Don't try and try to get on the BBS
after hours, as you won't get through, you'll just get Wayne saying
hello !!! It just blocks his phone line.
Wayne also does a Cheet Sheets CD this contains all the issues of
Cheets and loads of extra cheats. For those of you who want a
Numerical rating here it is:
Cheat Sheets BBS: Ease of use 97%
Cheat Sheets BBS: Subscription Fee 93%
Cheat Sheets BBS: Graphics 90%
Cheat Sheets Mag: Overall 99.9%
Cheat Sheets Mag: Graphics 90%
Cheet Sheets Mag: Realibility:75%
Cheat Sheets CD: 78%
Cheat Sheets Trainer Disks: 89%
Cheat Sheets BBS: Message Area: 96%
Cheat Sheets BBS Overall: 97%
And he also does trainer disks these contain 20+ cheats on different
games.
What is Wayne and Neil doing now?
Well Wayne is still rearraging and adding to his BBS and Neil is
striving to improve his cool interface. He is doing extremly well
and because he lives in Cornwall he even goes to the Seaside more
often.
Well that is it. I hope you enjoyed your read and one last thing
before I go. Just one more thing the BBS supports Speeds 2400-28.8!
Keep sending in cheats and tips to Wayne Roberts to this address:
