~Fantasy Fest !
A budget compilation briefly reviewed.
~Fantasy Fest! - Mindscape (44.99)
RPG fans, try this package for size. Contains four great RPG games
released in the last couple of years. The package includes :-
Dungeon Hack - Dungeons and Dragons style, first person perspective
with basic graphics and sound. Generally speaking this is not bad
and not excellent, but one good thing about it is it's built dungeon
editor, that'll see you spending hours of extra time, playing the
game.
Unlimited Adventures - This can't exactly be called a game, as it
is generally written to be used as a dungeon editor, in a similar
way to the Dungeon Hack editor. You can design everything in the
game, from the maps to the loactions of objects & creatures. If the
program doesn't keep you active the manual definately will !! A
good package to introduce you to the world of RPG. You can also
find a very large collection of extra levels for this on BBS's and
shareware CD's.
Fantasy Empires - This game is more of a strategy RPG built around
the same style gameplay as RISK. Where you must try and rule as
many kingdoms as possible whilst defending your own. A good RPG/
strategy game that will give you hours of enjoyment..
Stronghold - A God-sim very similar to Populous but with some better
3D graphics and a larger and more active gameplay area. The growth
of your kingdoms, greatly depends on the amount of farming, mining,
building, taxes etc.. that you have. A very life like game with
the added extra of unfriendly neighbours that tend to attack your
Strongholds on many occasions. Probably the best of the bunch.
These games might show off SSI's normal range of great games, but
they will give you a good feel of RPG/Strategy games. Hours of
reading/playing and of course fun...... A package that is worth
a look at.
