~Super Frog
Reviewed By Adriano Grisanti.
This is a conversion of the popular Amiga game of the same name,
however the intro sequence is missing on the PC version. The
original intro explained how super frog got his powers, and how he had
to fight an evil witch, and was very fun to watch. The PC can easily
handle such a intro, take Microprose F1 grand prix for example. All I
can think of is that because team 17 are behind it, they have'nt put
as much effort in, as they did for the Amiga version, but at the end
of the day it doesn't matter, because you'll probablly only watch a
intro sequence no more than 2 or 3 times.
Platform games are becoming better & better on the PC, and are of
better quality than the console versions, with allot more appeal.
Super frog is one such platform game, althrough not as good as Aladdin
and the lionking, it is still one of the best platform games available
for the PC today. It has great graphics & sound, but above all is
great to play.
There are plenty of secret tunels built in the landscape for you to
find, along with a whole host of power ups, including Lucasade
bottles (for energy), wings (for flying) & a ball (for throwing at the
enemy bees), to name a few.
From the forest world to witch's castle, the levels are varied &
great to play, with four levels per world, and 5 worlds to play, this
game should keep any keen play occupied for a few weeks, even with the
password function built into the game, it should still last a while.
Overall Super Frog scores 89%, as it is a great platform game.
