I've been around since January of 1995, putting me in the scene for two years now. I've seen the rise and fall of too many groups in my time here, and I must say that it's depressing. Integrity came and went, and for what? A good group got swallowed up and now there's nothing left. Not that this will be an article bashing ACiD, but what became of that merger? I myself have been in too many groups ... ACmE was the first, then my own group FLaWeD wich got one pack out, then Candelabra, and the "get that old group idea back" period which involved Rusty and I starting Lucid, Groove [which incedentally evolved into Analouge, Twilight's music division], Frite [which became a lighthearted joke], the Acme revival part II, and finally left me headed for CiA. I cannot vouch for my ansi skills, and as such I have not even tried for a shot at Twilight or Acid!ansi, and I don't even do much ansi for CiA [being the co-coord of Revival, a.k.a CiALiT. ] So what has this two years in the all hallowed scene gotten me? a lit position. What has it gotten other people? Higher positions in better groups. But look at the basics. What exectly is the whole reason behind the scene? Why do we spend any time on this outdated media using pixels the size of whole text screen position when we could be using the whole 1024x720 or bigger field? Because it's fun. Yes, I said fun. And when it ceases to be fun, bad things happen. Like the fall of the two biggest ansi moguls in the scene for the past six years: ACiD and iCE. And the defining factor behind the rise of Twilight was what? They wanted to have fun again. The same with Acid!ansi. No fun in ACiD? break away and have your own fun. I am not advocating destryoing your group of you don't feel you're having fun, but if that's the case, find a group that allows that freedom. And if you aren't having fun drawing ansi anymore, then it's time to move on to something new. is? ! cia/revival
