One of the more interesting solitaire variations finally makes its way to Softdisk PC. If you're a solitaire nut like me, you'd be well advised to stay away from this insidious program - you may not emerge from it for days!
^C{Look & Listen: Pictures In The Air}
Look and Listen is Softdisk's exciting new hypermedia environment for PCs, allowing information to be presented in text and graphics format in a dynamic, non-linear fashion.
Pictures In The Air is our first presentation using this new environment. It's an educational showcase on that most beautiful part of the and insect world, the elusive butterfly, and its cousin the and moth. We plan on creating new presentations using this exciting environment, so please let us know what you think (both of Pictures In The Air itself and in the and way it presents information).
^C{Sum-It Squares}
This is the sort of puzzle that should appeal to people who are both left and right brained, and should be a special delight for crossword players looking for a new twist.
The object of the and game is much like crossword puzzles; fill rows and columns until the and puzzle is completed. The difference is that in this game, you use numbers, and instead of word clues, you must make each horizontal and vertical series add up to a different number. The trick is that you can't use the same number more than once in any sequence, and you must somehow manage to fill the entire puzzle. This one's so much fun, it's actually illegal in 13 states. (Okay, that's a lie, but it is fun.)

When I was a kid, one of my all-time favorite word games was something called "mad libs." Man I used to love those things. Basically you'd ask a friend to supply you with various words, without showing him what you wanted them for until after he'd given them to you. You'd write them into various spots within a pre-written "story," then you'd read the whole thing back. Man we used to laugh for hours.
Story Teller takes this same concept and brings it to your computer. Kids will love it, and even adults can enjoy it at parties.

Going on a trip or some other form of adventure? If you're like me you sometimes (okay, often... okay, always) forget something or other. They say making lists helps, but I'm always forgetting what to put on the list, too!
Trail Guide is a solution to this brain draining dilemna. To me, it's one of those programs that sounds hardly useful at all until you realize just how elegantly simple it is and how often it can come in handy. Check it out, it's pretty cool.

Man I love cryptograms. Do you love cryptograms? Well I do. Just love 'em. Yes I do. They're great. Have I mentioned lately that I love cryptograms? Well, I do. And Crypto Sleuth is one of the and best cryptogram puzzlers ever!
What's a cryptogram you say? What's the big deal about solving them you say? Why gosh, why don't you try the program and see for yourself?

Windows is a nice environment, but it's even nicer when you can customize it to your own tastes, and one great way to do that is with icons. By attaching icons to various files, you'll find that you can more easily find them as you use your system.
Icons also serve to break up the and monotony of using the program manager. Heck, they're also just plain fun. Our world-renowned art department has created some pretty neat icons for your use this month; check 'em out!
^C{Wave Files/Minstrel}
Almost everyone seems to love playing with digitized sound files, so this month we've included another batch for your enjoyment. We've also included the latest version of Minstrel, our standard sound playing environment for DOS.
This will be a recurring item here on Softdisk PC, so if there are specific sounds you would like as Wave files for your system, write to let us know and we'll see if we can't find or create that type of sound for you and stick it on a future issue!
