  10.      Tag Line Xpress is an enhanced tagline manager for offline mail
  11.      readers.

  13.      TLX installs automatically into Silly Little Mail Reader, Off Line
  14.      Xpress, Jabber, SpeedRead, Deluxe², MegaReader and Blue Wave.

  16.      This is a minor bug fix release to address problems with Fido style
  17.      tagline theft. Added interim Fido compatible quote enhancer feature.

  48.      Software Creations......
  49.  
  50.         Dan Linton is the SYSOP of a board, Software Creations BBS,
  51.     which is touted as the "Home of the Authors." Among the shareware
  52.     authors who call it home are: Apogee, Id, Gamer's Edge, Epic
  53.     MegaGames, and others. One author that I did not mention, is the
  54.     SYSOP. Software Creations is the name of both his BBS and his
  55.     company.
  56.  
  57.         Mr. Linton, in his own right, is an author to take notice of.
  58.     His first release was Picture Puzzle. As its name implies, it is an
  59.     electronic puzzle. However, the twist is that you can select  the
  60.     sizes and shapes of the pieces from 4 to 1400. It can be fun for
  61.     youngsters, and still be a challenge to adults. One good thing is
  62.     that you do not have to worry about losing any pieces  (unless the
  63.     computer deletes them!). It will utilize GIF, PCX and PUZ (Picture
  64.     Puzzle) files. On-line help shows you the completed puzzle, if you
  65.     wish, in a window while you are working on the puzzle. There is full
  66.     EGA and mouse support. In addition there is a sound option that will
  67.     play a song upon completion of the puzzle. As of this writing there
  68.     are over 70 puzzles available, with more always being added.

  70.         Teaming up with Jason Blochowiak, Dan Linton has released Trivia
  71.     Shell. This program was actually started beofre Puzzle, but was
  72.     placed on the back burners.

  74.         Trivia Shell is an interactive trivia game. Men, women and
  75.     children will find out things they did not know. To date there are
  76.     over 25 topics to choose from. When you register you can select from
  77.     two versions. The Classic contains 300 questions, while Deluxe
  78.     contains 600 trivia questions.

  80.         Trivia Shell is a great study aid, where you can study trivia on
  81.     presidents, Civil War, World War II, states of the union and many
  82.     other subjects. You can also test your knowledge of sports, TV, USA
  83.     and more. You can control almost every aspect of the game. Choose
  84.     how the game will be scored. What questions you will answer. How
  85.     many points you will receive. The amount of questions. As I
  86.     mentioned the subjects are varied, and are both entertaining and
  87.     challenging.

  89.         Not one to sit idle, Dan has been hard at work on several new
  90.     games. Hexxagon and JetPack have already been released, with Night
  91.     Raid due out shortly. I have distributed both of these programs, and
  92.     have received much praise for Mr. Linton.

  94.         Hexxagon is a board game. Simply it is an Othello-like game.
  95.     However, that is where the similarity ends. You must have more of
  96.     your color on the board to win. But, the way you achieve additional
  97.     pieces and capture your opponent is where you put on your thinking
  98.     cap. It is also where you start to have fun. Are you smarter the
  99.     computer? This is your chance to find out. The computer uses an
  100.     advanced genetic brain algorithm to calculate its moves.

  102.         JetPack is a futuristic Lode Runner. The object is to collect
  103.     all the gems on a level, and then proceed to the next level. You
  104.     must climb ladders, and escape your pursuers. Each level brings
  105.     different challenges. Using your jet pack you can fly over them. If
  106.     you think the game is not challenging enough, then use the built-in
  107.     editor to create your own levels.

  109.         Both these new releases support Sound Blaster, which adds to the
  110.     enjoyment on the game. However, as one person told me: "I enjoy
  111.     games that have sound. But, I do not want to be drowned in music or
  112.     sound effects. With these  games there is sound, but it is not
  113.     overdone, and I enjoyed them."

  115.         Software Creations has become a player in the shareware market.
  116.     If these products are a preview of the future, it will be some
  117.     future for both Software Creations and Dan Linton.
