  7. What Forth libraries are available, and how can I access them?

  9.   There are several repositories of Forth programs, sources, executables,
  10.   and so on.  These various repositories are NOT indentical copies of the
  11.   same things.  Material is available on an AS-IS basis due to the charity
  12.   of the people involved in maintaining the libraries.  In addition to the
  13.   sources listed below, many of the ForthNet branches also have libraries
  14.   available.  See FAQ Part 10 for information on accessing ForthNet.

  18. Getting Forth files directly from The Forth Interest Group:

  20.   The Forth Interest Group maintains a library of Forth files available on
  21.   disk.  You can write them for an order form, their address is in
  22.   FAQ Part 02.  They also have a very extensive library on line on GEnie.

  27. Getting Forth files via FTP:
  28.  
  29.   There is an FTP site in Portugal devoted to Forth, which contains a
  30.   mirror of the FIG library on GEnie, plus whatever anyone has donated.
  31.   The archive is run by Paulo A. D. Ferreira who has donated the resources
  32.   for it.  The archive machine name/address is:
  33.      asterix.inescn.pt 192.35.246.17
  34.   and the files are in the directory:
  35.      pub/forth
  36.  
  37.   Please note:  There are several other FTP sites on the network that
  38.   have Forth directories.  However, this is the only FTP site
  39.   that has a respository specificly for Forth files of any
  40.   and all kinds.  SIMTEL20 has some MSDOS only files, but
  41.   those are very old.  A few other sites are the primary
  42.   distribution points for particular Forth systems.  If you
  43.   are the maintainer of such a site, please email me some text
  44.   that I can add to the FAQ messages.

  81.     answers to list here.  See your system administrator for help in using

  90.     There are two options for getting Forth files via EMail.  First, you
  91.     can use an EMail interface to an FTP server.  Second, you can use
  92.     FNEAS.  Details on how to use each of those follow.

  126.     FNEAS -- ForthNet Email Archive Server.

  128.     FNEAS is a service that allows people without FTP or other methods to
  129.     accesss Forth libraries via email.  (Note that you may also be able to
  130.     use the EMail interface to FTP.)  To access FNEAS, send email to:
  131.      fneas@willett.pgh.pa.us
  132.     and in the body of your message, put the lines:
  133.      help
  134.      path X
  135.     where X is your Internet relative EMail address.  Despite
  136.     appearances, neither:  user@host.uucp  NOR  user@host.bitnet  are
  137.     Internet relative addresses.  If you need help determining how to
  138.     construct an Internet relative EMail address, please consult your
  139.     system administrator.
