  9.   ForthNet is a virtual Forth network that links designated message bases
  10.   of several Bulletin Boards and Information Services in an attempt to
  11.   provide greater distribution of Forth related information.

  13.   ForthNet is provided through the courtesy of the SysOps of its various
  14.   links who shunt appropriate messages in a manual or semi-manual manner.

  25. What are the restrictions and guidelines for ForthNet messages?

  27.   The various branches of ForthNet do not have the same rules of
  28.   appropriate postings or ettiquette.  Many BBoard posts are very chatty
  29.   and contain some personal information, and some also contain blatant
  30.   commercial advertising.  Most comp.lang.forth posts are not like that.

  32.   Because ForthNet messages are routed beyound the system from which they
  33.   originate, we, the manual and semi-manual linkers of ForthNet, ask that
  34.   you try to keep the lines in your messages to under 77 characters in
  35.   length.  You do not have to do that.  If you do use long lines, be aware
  36.   that your message will end up formatted differently on the various
  37.   branches of ForthNet.

  41. How do I send email to some one who has posted a message on ForthNet?

  43.   There is NO e-mail link between the various branches of ForthNet.  If you
  44.   need to get a message through to someone on another branch, please either
  45.   make your message general enough to be of interest to the whole net, or
  46.   contact said person by phone, USMail, or some other means.  Thoughtful
  47.   message authors place *a few* lines at the end of their messages
  48.   describing how to contact them (electronicly or otherwise).

  57.     ForthNet messages that are ported into comp.lang.forth from the rest of
  58.     the ForthNet all originate on GEnie.  All such messages are ported into
  59.     comp.lang.forth with a from line of the form:

  63.     Most messages ported to comp.lang.forth also contain some trailer
  64.     information as to where they actually originated, if it was not on
  65.     GEnie.
