I just tasted my first bottle of my all-grain "Rye Not" lager.
The recipe for 5 gallons was:
4.2 lbs pale malt
2.5 lbs rye malt
1.2 lbs. crystal malt
STep mash
(and ohhh how it did get stuck in the runoff!!!)
3/4 oz. Yakima Hallertauer (4%) boiled for 90 minutes
3/5 oz. Yakima Hallertauer (4%) boiled for 30 minutes
3/5 oz. Hersbrucker Hallertauer (4%) boiled for 15 minutes
1 oz. Mt Hood (5%) boiled for 2 minutes
For an estimated IBU of 13-15
lagered at 48 degrees for about 1 1/2 months.

FG 1016
It tasted good. Though I can't recognize anything unusual that the rye malt
contributed to the overall flavor. Interestingly there was not chill haze.
There you have it. I'll keep trying it, since it was only bottled 1 1/2 weeks
ago.
