Congenital Syphilis
SYMPTOMS in an infant may include blisters on the mouth, soles, nose, palms
and diaper area and generalized lymph node enlargement. Other signs may
include a failure to thrive, enlarged liver and spleen, convulsions, mental
retardation, meningitis and bloodstained or pus-laden discharge.
CAUSES by the mother passing along infection to the fetus.
TREATMENT. Antibiotics and other treatment.
