The MP-002 card costs just over $100 thru T.T.C. Computer Products at
214-594-8103. Now a dealer friend of mine got me the card ... I understand
that they sell to dealers only, but give it a try.
You select a single IRQ (I use IRQ2) by a DIP switch. Port I/Os are
selected the same way (I used the factory defaults ... there are 23
possibilities, also DIP switch selected). UARTs are socketted 16450s.
I am running an MSYS system with the card ... COM1 is a 2400 baud LL
BBS port, COM2 is a 9600 baud UHF port, (COM3 - COM7 are using the MP-002
card), COM3 is a 300 baud HF port, COM4 is a 1200 baud VHF port. I am not
using COM5 or COM6 at this time but I have checked the operation of all
6 ports running at the same time and it does just FB!
The MP-002 replaced an MS400 card in my system. I cannot prove it but
I think the MP-002 is faster. It is certainly an easier solution to
adding COMs since it works right out the box.
For the record ... I am in NO WAY associated with this company. I just
happened to run accross this product and thought it would be of interest
to the PACKET community (at least).
I confess that I have not tried this using BPQ but see no reason why it
would not work ... since it works FB with MSYS.
Let me know if you get one and what you think.
