This FCC115.ZIP archive has been archived with PKZIP, Version 2.04g. This
version contains a sample FCC database for use with the FCC Frequency
Retrieval System, although the registered version comes complete with a
database for any state in the US. Version 1.15 of our FCC program is fully
functional, but will you will be required to register it in order to use
any other database. Please see the FCC.DOC, ORDER.FRM and REVISION.HST
files for information pertaining to the installation, operation and
ordering of this program.
The SHAREWARE archive should have the following files:
FCC.EXE <-- The main executable
FCC.CFG <-- Supplementary file containing colors
FCC1.FRM <-- Report form template #1
FCC2.FRM <-- Report form template #2
FCC.DBF <-- Sample SHAREWARE database
HELP.DBF <-- Guess what? Help file
HELP.DBT <-- Yup, goes with help file
QUERIES.DBF <-- Sample queries
QUERIES.DBT <-- Used with queries.dbf
FCC.DOC <-- FCC Frequency Retrieval Documentation File
READ.ME <-- This file
ORDER.FRM <-- Order form for Registered versions
REVISION.HST <-- Revision history file
FILE_ID.DIZ <-- BBS File Description insert
SCANWARE.BBS <-- ScanWare BBS Ad
DOS_6_0.TXT <-- Text file for DOS 6.0 users using the FRS
If you are running a REGISTERED version of FRS, you will also have:
INSTALL.BAT <-- Main installation batch file for install
INSTALL.DAT <-- Data file used during install
INST1.BAT <-- Secondary batch file for install
INST.EXE <-- Main install executable program
FCC.REG <-- Personalized registration file
??.EXE <-- Purchased state database in self
extracting archive. May be on program
disk or may be provided on second disk(s).
Once run, the following files will also be created:
FCC1.NTX <-- Index file on Frequency field
FCC2.NTX <-- Index file on Service Code field
FCC3.NTX <-- Index file on Call Sign field
FCC4.NTX <-- Index file on County field
FCC5.NTX <-- Index file on City field
FCC6.NTX <-- Index file on Name field
HELP.NTX <-- Index file for Help system
QUERIES.NTX <-- Index file for Queries program
To install the FCC Frequency Retrieval System, simply place the program
disk in your floppy drive and type "INSTALL x:", where the "x:" refers to
the drive you wish FCC to be installed. NOTE: You MUST include the ":"
when specifying the drive or you WILL have all sorts of problems. The
install program will check several items, specifically, that all required
files are present, that you have specified a proper drive and/or directory,
whether you have enough disk space for the complete state being installed,
etc.
During the install, the program will copy all required files from the
program disk to the drive and directory you have specified; will extract
the state database requested and will finish by building the six necessary
index files for operation of the FRS. When complete, you will be placed in
the directory you have installed the program on. To run FCC, simply type
"FCC" at the DOS prompt and press enter (or return). The rest is easy!
Be sure and remove your master program disk and place it in a safe place.
