  20. Contest, remember the closing date for logs is 1st September -
  21. thats only 9 days away. Some stations that were observed work-
  22. ing  during the contest have not yet sent logs,  although some
  23. few were very active.  Worth a check?

  67. A  MULTIMODE   AMATEUR  RADIO STATION  WILL OPERATE  OVER  THE
  68. WEEKEND  USING  THE  NORMAL   SCOUT FREQUENCIES  (AS  WELL  AS
  69. OTHERS).  THIS  IS AN IDEAL OPPORTUNITY FOR  EVERYONE   TAKING
  70. PART   IN JOTA 93 TO FIRE UP THEIR SYSTEMS AND MAKE  A  COUPLE
  71. OF  -TEST- CONTACTS  WITH THE BASE IN PREPARATION FOR THE  BIG
  72. WEEKEND A FEW WEEKS LATER.

  116.  
  117. Solar activity was low 13th-17th August, and low on 19th-19th.
  118.  
  119. The  geomagnetic field at Learmonth (WA) was quiet  13th-14th,
  120. quiet to unsettled on 15th, and 17th-19th, and active to minor
  121. storm levels on 16th.
  122.  
  123. Ionospheric  F2 critical frequencies at Sydney were near  pre-
  124. dicted  monthly  values on  13th-15th,  followed  an  enhanced
  125. period  of  up  to 30 per cent  0200-0400  UT  on  16th,  then
  126. returning  to near normal.  Depressions of up to 15  per  cent
  127. were   observed  from  2100  UT  on  16th  through  17th.   F2
  128. frequencies returned to near predicted values thereafter, with
  129. spread  F  conditions  1800-2000 UT on 19th.

  131.            Forecast for the next week (20 - 26 August)
  132.  
  133. Solar  :  Low.

  135. Geomagnetic:  Quiet to unsettled until 24-26th, when unsettled
  136.               to  active levels are expected due to a  coronal
  137.               hole.

  148. If the DX notes appear short this week,  I must apologize, but
  149. the  conditions as they have been for the past  week,  reports
  150. have  been  few,  and  information  has  been  scarce.   Maybe
  151. everyone was chasing the E31A.  So all that I can say is  that
  152. we  are  not up to our usual standard this week,  but we  have
  153. done our best.

  283. MELLISH  REEF,  VK9M.   All is on schedule for this trip which
  284. will  take place during September between the 19th  and  28th.
  285. There will be two sites which will operate simultaneously.

  287. ST.  PAUL IS.  CY9CWI will be aired starting this weekend from
  288. August  14 to 19.   The crew wants to work with three stations
  289. on at the same time.  Modes include CW, SSB and RTTY.
