  1. If you have passed your test on or after
  2. 1 April 1991, you have 2 years from the date of your
  3. test to apply for a full licence. If you passed your
  4. test before 1 April 1991 you must apply for a full
  5. licence within 10 years of passing your test.  If
  6. you leave it longer than this you will need to take
  7. another test (theory and practical).
  8. Eyesight - you must be able to read in good daylight. The acid test is to be able to read correctly a
  9. vehicle number plate at a distance of 67 feet. Newer number plates with a narrower font should be
  10. read correctly from a distance of 66 feet. If you need glasses to read the number plates, then they must
  11. be worn every time you drive. It is a criminal offence to drive if you cannot meet the required standard.
