  3.                         GET A GOOD DOS SHELL PROGRAM

  5.             The absolute best SHELL  program  that  I  have  come
  6.             across  is the earlier version of DIRECTORY MASTER. I
  7.             can flip files all over the place in record time, and
  8.             you  need  to   do   that   when   manipulating   bbs
  9.             directories.   Function  keys can also be set to help
  10.             you carry out routine operations such as ziping files
  11.             or adding comment files.  I could not live without my
  12.             DM.  Norton Commander is nice - but  it  is  way  too
  13.             complicated   for  the  quick  operations  needed  in
  14.             running a bbs.  Along with DM you need to include the
  15.             SLED text editor program in your path somewhere. SLED
  16.             is the simplest, most versatile t-editor I  know  of.
  17.             You  can  not  only  edit text but copy and move text
  18.             around in the document and the right  margin  is  not
  19.             restricted as in some editors. So if you are making a
  20.             document  that  has  codes  that  go  beyond  the  80
  21.             character mark it will stay on the same  line  rather
  22.             than be shot down to the next line!
