  4.                            GET A TYPING TUTOR

  8.             The  next  suggestion  is  one  that   sometimes   is
  9.             overlooked, but it is really   important:    99.9% of
  10.             your time running a BBS is TYPING!  Now that  was  an
  11.             obvious statement but suprisingly overlooked by a lot
  12.             of  new  sysops.   SAVE YOURSELF a LOT of FRUSTRATION
  13.             --- if you are not a "fluent typist" get  yourself  a
  14.             typing  tutor  program  and  USE IT! and learn how to
  15.             type.  Once you get  the  basics  down  you  will  be
  16.             "practicing"  for  the  rest  of your life ... and it
  17.             will become  easier  and  easier  as  time  goes  by.
  18.             Especially with the amount of typing that is required
  19.             in  running  a  board.   There  is  a program called:
  20.             FASTYP30.ZIP on my bbs and can be downloaded free  by
  21.             calling 804-625-0728.

  23.             A  word  regarding  typing  on  a bbs.  USING CAPITAL
  24.             LETTERS LIKE THIS MEANS YOU ARE  SHOUTING!!!!!!!   We
  25.             only   use  capital  letters  if  we  are  trying  to
  26.             EMPHASIZE something!!!  Don't SHOUT!! on a board!  It
  27.             really  is  impolite  and  some  people  really  take
  28.             offense at it!

  30.             The  chat  mode  of  a  bbs is the place where "live"
  31.             typing takes place.  This  is  usually  done  between
  32.             Sysop and User.  Or between user and user if there is
  33.             more  than  one  node  and the interuser chat mode is
  34.             activated. Remember the first time a Sysop cut in  on
  35.             you  when  you  were  a  brand  new user!!!!  and you
  36.             FREAKED!!!!!  just remember that when you cut  in  on
  37.             people as a Sysop!  Heheheheh!!!!
