ManDown v1.7
By Bart Flentje
March 18, 1994
v1.7 Made menus and help screens into ANSI screens versus being hard
coded. This adds quite a bit of speed. I removed some of the
long winded text that users don't read. I changed some of the
words that the average could not understand into easily understood
stuff....ie got rid of the word Queue..!
v1.6 I removed the deal that Zipped up the users file queue when they
have more than one file. I would assume the sysop would have these
files already zipped up and ready to go. This will allow for the
transfer of say PKUNZIP.EXE where it is just an executable. Output
format was fixed on the download failed algorithm. Added additional
checks for drop carrier.
v1.5 Added many new features... Besides the obvious cosmetic changes, I
added a feature for the user to be able to add more files to file
queue. New clear keyboard/modem buffer on failed download.
v1.4 During changes in v1.3, messed up function of adding time to profile,
this is now fixed. When a user writes a comment to the sysop, I now
make the comment from the user instead of from ManDown Mailroom. This
will allow replies to those comments where no name is signed on the
message. ManDown may run a bit faster due to a fix in the library
routines. If a user is in the user log, the sysop may allow/disallow
access. This makes the LOGINx.BAT option easier.
v1.3 Added the support of non-standard base and IRQ. Added a user log and
the option to disable return to BBS w/out download so sysops can TRUELY
FORCE callers to download their file using a LOGINx.BAT. Users in log
will be bypassed and returned directly to BBS. What this really means
is that all callers can go into Mandown and download the file unless
their name is in the user log. The difference would be is that if they
are a NEWUSER the will be upgraded to your new profile. If caller is
not a NEWUSER, user can still download the file and in both cases,
their name will be written to the log.
v1.2 Added the option to turn on or off the Comment to Sysop menu option.
Made it possible to use either DSZ or GSZ using the .CFG file.
v1.1 Finished features to choose between different protocols and Comment to
Sysop. Now fully functional. Eliminated the "stupid" UP.BAT idea.
It was a horrible idea and should have never used it..
v1.0 First release. Only options were to download file, return to BBS, and
logoff the system. No much to it.
