PROGRAMM WHAT [PPE2] V0.13ß - display's incoming files to user(s)
INTRODUCING
WHAT is a PPE written on PPLC V2.0 for PCB V15.1+
the current version is not available for PCB V15.0 as some
commands from PPLC V2.0 are strongly needed for proper
functioning.
WHAT shows you the just incoming file(s) , it uses system
IRQ calls, so it's possible to display also the files
not being inserted to PCBDSZ.LOG yet (like other PPE's use
to display uploads), WHAT contains the same look like the
old WHAT V1.20 version, coded as DOOR for PRODOOR/PCBOARD
systems.
WHAT shows the filenames
WHAT shows CPS (if available)
WHAT shows size of files (if available)
WHAT shows Starttime of the currently being uploaded file
WHAT shows username, who's just uploading data
WHAT shows private dirs to user with configurable DIR-NAMES (l8r)
if SYSOP trades also stuff.
WHAT use commandline option to fasten display wishes of user(s)
NEW WHAT supports TB_Q_PPE from now on. (read TB_Q_PPE.NFO)
WHATDOOR is the ULIST V1.30ß DOOR Version for PRODOOR/PCB 14.5 sysops
INSTALL
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Due to the fact, that the coder(s) of Clark Development Co. Inc
are a bunch of idiots, you have to do some workarounds (not hard
as it might sounds to you) to make WHAT working well.....
old PRODOOR Sysops know, what WHAT is needed for. PLAYPENS!!!!!
ok, create for each node you're running a playpen (playpen is the name
of a dir, which the system put the files in during receiving)
e.g.
you have a 5 node system:
create this : F:\TEMP\PLAY1
F:\TEMP\PLAY2
F:\TEMP\PLAY3
F:\TEMP\PLAY4
F:\TEMP\PLAY5
or that
F:\PCB\PLAY1
F:\PCB\PLAY2
F:\PCB\PLAY3
F:\PCB\PLAY4
F:\PCB\PLAY5
!!DONT DO THAT!!!!!!
-> F:\PCB\NODE1\PLAY1
F:\PCB\NODE2\PLAY2
F:\PCB\NODE3\PLAY3
F:\PCB\NODE4\PLAY4
F:\PCB\NODE5\PLAY5
dont put the playpens to the pcb-node dirs!!!!..wont work!!!!
Start PCBSETUP, go to conferences/Location of Upload:
check all conferences, if this path is the same one
e.g. \PCB\HOLD\ for all conferences!!!!!!!!!
if not, write in all the same path\dir.(the dir has to exist!!)
Thanx to Clark D. again to put the Upload-temp-dir to the private hold
dir!!!!!!!....damned idiots.........anyway...and now the last switch
edit your PCBR?.ZIP files (have a look the examples given in this ARC.
main is, the you have to repipe the receiving path to the playpens...
but should not be as hard is it sound, (even for the intern ZRECEIVE)
use the extern switch for the protocolls!!!)...
the patched system will now receive the data to the playpens
and after that moved them to the 'Location of Upload' dir to be tested
by system.
We run such system for about 6 month now, and none file's been
missing until now.
Ok if u managed it, u can go on installing the rest.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Copy the WHAT file to the PCB\HELP directory. This file contains
help data for online reading displayed by PCBOARD HELP command.
Create a directory on your HD, it needn't be in the DOS path.
Put all files from the WHAT arc to this dir. Start PCBSETUP and
put a command to the CMD file, which contains the name, level
and path of the .PPE
e.g.
WHAT 20 F:\PCB\WHAT\WHAT.PPE
Edit the WHAT.CNF file. Syntax is:
LINE1: DRIVE:PATH of the playpens (without last digit, WHAT will add
itself the needed digit
LINE2: How many lines to be displayd
write here the existing dirs, not more :)
LINE3: DRIVE:PATH of one nodedir without nodenum
e.g. if your nodes are named like that
F:\PCB\NODE1
F:\PCB\NODE2
F:\PCB\NODE3
F:\PCB\NODE4
F:\PCB\NODE5
u have to enter F:\PCB\NODE here...
BTW WHAT expect the DSZLOG for the current line in the same
DIR...: that means.. the PCBDSZ.LOG of Node 3 should be found
in F:\PCB\NODE3...use DSZLOG environment to setup the path!!
LINE4-??
here u may insert additional dirs and names of this dirs,
which will be displayed if files can be located there
e.g.
f:\down PC-SYSTEM
f:\down\ami AMIGA-SYSTEM
f:\down\SNES SNES-SYSTEM
f:\down\SEGA SEGA-SYSTEM
f:\down\MAC MACINTOSH-SYSTEM
that means if you trade also stuff, put your download
path here and give the dir a name , which will be displayed
( a username cant be located if you trade stuff out of
PCBOARD!!)
U may leave this lines empty....!
USAGE
There are three commandline options, which will speedup the display
WHAT LOC(al) = Display only the SYSTEM LOCAL directories
WHAT PUB(lic) = Display only the USER(s) playpens
WHAT # = Display only the Line '#'
or just 'WHAT' to display all available data
Press ESC to skip currently displaying data and jump to next user
