INSTALLATION
============
Make a directory PCBUTIL, place PCBUtil.exe, PCBUtil.doc,
PCBUtil.reg, PCBUtil.key/PCBEvent.key, ReadOnly.exe in the
PCBUtil directory.
* This utility will read PCBEvent keys! *
If you were a registered PCBEvent user then there is no need
to register PCBUtility! This package will look for your
PCBEvent key file in the PCBUTIL directory.
Now change into the PCBUTIL directory and type "ATTRIB +r
*.EXE" without the quotes to set all PCBUtility EXE's
attribute to Read Only. Next type "PCBUTIL" and press ENTER.
PCBUTIL will start up in it's "Install" mode.
PCBUtility v1.0 will now ask you for the configuration
options.
Options:
1) DOS command to load your text editor?
This is what you would type at the DOS prompt to load
your text editor. PCBUTIL will allow you to shell out
to your text editor to create/edit text files.
2) DOS command to load your text viewer?
This is what you would type at the DOS prompt to load
your text viewer. PCBUTIL will allow you to shell out
to your text viewer to view a text file. If you would
like to use the internal text viewer built into
PCBUTIL place @INT into this field.
4) Minutes until screen burn protection.
PCBUTIL will blank the screen if there is no activity
within this many minutes. This is where you specify
how many minutes before PCBUTIL will blank the screen.
This value must be between 1 and 9. Default for this
field is 9 minutes.
5) Toggle sound on or off?
This is where you can toggle sound on or off. The
default is toggled on.
Next you can set the pitch of the sound tones.
6) Memory Display
This is to toggle the Memory usage display. If this
is turned on PCBUTIL will display it's view of the
memory available. Use this to debug your system to
get the most out of PCBUTIL.
7) Super Shell
This option will allow PCBUtility to swap the code in
memory to EMS, XMS, Disk (in that order) when
selecting Shell to DOS from the Utility Menu.
8) Time Display Options
Here is where you can turn on and off the time
display. You can now specify the time to be displayed
in twelve or twenty four format.
Specify whether or not to display the seconds.
9) Setting Up Node Information
Select yes for each new node that you want to set up.
When you are done select NO to quit. It will then ask
you for the path to each nodes home directory (where
PCBoard.dat is for this node). This should be a path
only. Example: "C:\PCB2" would be my home directory
for node 2. When you have typed in the correct path
select the OK button.
Select yes for each new node that you want to set up.
When you are done select NO to quit.
