Asn, Ohio/Penn PacketCluster Network, DL7VEE & DXNL, DF4RD,
HL5KY, AD1C, K2EYJ, K4CEF & Southeastern Cluster Group, KJ4JH, N8BJQ,
WB8ZRL, IW2IYN and IK5AAX for the following DX information.
4K2, FRANZ JOSEF LAND. 4K2MAL has been activate on 30 meters and 17
meters. Check around 10104 kHz as early as 2230 and as late as 0400z.
Check 17072 kHz at 1645z. He was also heard begging for contacts on
20 meters (around 14182 kHz) at 1415z. Also check 7004 khz around 0245z.
8R, GUYANA. Larry, N4VA, a member of FAIRS (the Foundation for Amateur
International Radio Service, LTD), will active a 8R1/N4VA for at least
two weeks. Larry is involved in radio training and putting together a
club station with the Guyana Amateur Radio Association. He will also
attempt to be active from an IOTA island group during his stay. His
plans are not firm, so listen to the IOTA frequencies (14260 and 21260
kHz) for upcoming details.
9N, NEPAL. Two local operators (9N1AA and 9N1HA) can be found on the
bands due to the donations of HF equipment by DJ6SI and DJ6JC. Also
EUDXF, DL9WVM and WB6ZUC were involved in helping to pay the tolls
and transportation fees for the donated radios. On Ohio/Penn Network
there have not been any QSNs reported yet on these two operators.
Please send the QSLs only direct with the names Satis (9N1AA) or Surish
(9N1HA) enclosed to: PO Box 4292 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
A3, TONGA. Bob, W7TSQ, is island hopping around the main island of Tonga
(to please the IOTA chasers) as A35SQ. So far Bob has been active from
the Tongatapu group (OC-049) and Vava'u group (OC-069). His next stops
are not known as of yet, but he will be active until March 15th. QSL
via W7TSQ.
BV9P, PRATAS ISLAND. BAD NEWS!!! Steve, N8BJQ, had a phone conversation
with Kan, JA1BK, and was told that the upcoming DXpedition, scheduled
for March 16th, is a "NO GO". Kan expects more details this week when
Martti, OH2BH returns to Taiwan.
FH, MAYOTTE. Three German operators (DJ2BW, DK2BI, DF9PG) are now active
as FH/call until March 9. They will be active on all bands (including
the WARC bands) on CW, SSB and RTTY. Check for them around the following
frequencies at various times: 3506, 3800, 7005, 7053, 14021, 14094
(RTTY), 18073, 21085 (RTTY), 21197 and 21293 kHz.
FT, KERGUELEN ISLAND. Pierre, FT5XJ, is now operating with a beam
antenna. He has been heard at 0330 and 1600z around 14188 kHz. He has
plans to become active in 1995 for three months from FT/Z (Amsterdam
& St. Paul Island).
H44, SOLOMON ISLANDS. Bernard, DL2GAC, is supposed to be active as H44MS
during the next 4 weeks, but there has not been any QSNs reported of his
activity. The DXNL also reports that Bernard wants to go to P29 after
his operation in H44-land.
HK0, MALPELO AND GORGOLA ISLANDS. Marco, IW2IYN, informed OPDX that
I2RAO has sent all the papers to the ARRL on his recent activities
from HK0 and is just waiting for their answer. Meanwhile, he states
a group of Colombian operators are planning for a new operation from
Malpelo, which will take place in 1995 around January 2-16.
J6, ST. LUCIA. Holger, DL5XAT, and Ralf, DL9XAT, should now be active
as J6/DL5XAT and DL9XAT until March 18th. Their activities will be on
160-6 meters. QSL to their CBA or bureau.
KH0, MARIANA ISLANDS. JA1CMD will be active as KH0/JA1CMD from March
27th to April 1st. His activity will be mainly on 80 and 40 meter CW.
QSL to CBA.
VE8, CANADA (NEW IOTA). It has been reported that the Inuvik Amateur
Club will be activating a new IOTA on April 9th and 10th. The location
will be Hendrickson Island located in the Northwest Territories in the
West Inuvik Region group (69 35N/133 33W). The operation hinges on good
weather because the group will operate in tents under winter conditions.
VK6CHI, CHEYNE ISLANDS (NEW IOTA). Mal, VK6LC, and Ron, VK6LG, will be
active March 18-23. Cheyne is located in the South Coast West Group of
Western Australia. The new IOTA number will be issued after some QSOs
have been made. Operating frequencies will be 7095, 14260 21160 and
21260 kHz. If the propagation is poor, they will be active on CW.
ZK1, NORTH COOK ISLANDS. Begin looking for Amy on 14195 kHz around
0430z. She has also been heard on 3787 kHz around 0630z, 7205 kHz
around 0715z, 18150 kHz at 2200z and 24950 kHz at 2315z. QSL via
WB6EQX.
THIS WEEK ON THE SATELLITES. 4S7AVR - 145.913/1338z, HL5QO - 145.902/
0330z, CT1BQN - 145.895/2250z, WP4LBK - 145.914/2340z, NL7RY - 145.891/
2322z, OH6MZS - 145.987/1425z, TI5RLI - 145.900/2225z, TR8CA - 145.897
/1722z, V85CQ - 145.912/0405z, XX9AS - 145.894/0522z and ZP5ZR -
145.900/2339z.
A SPECIAL OPDX BULLETIN: The results of the OPDX/NODXA 1993 DX Survey,
that was taken December of 1993 thru January 1994, will be released
sometime this week.
