  2.                          Amendments (One through Six)

  4.  1st Amendment
  5.  
  6.  Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
  7.  religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or
  8.  abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the
  9.  right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition
  10.  the government for a redress of <« grievances »>.

  12.  2nd Amendment

  14.  A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free
  15.  state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be
  16.  infringed.

  18.  3rd Amendment
  19.  
  20.  No soldier shall, in time of peace, be quarters in any house,
  21.  without the consent of the owner; nor in time of war, but in a
  22.  manner to be prescribed by law.

  24.  4th Amendment
  25.  
  26.  The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses,
  27.  papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures,
  28.  shall not be violated; and no warrants shall issue, but upon
  29.  probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and
  30.  particularly describing the place to be searched and the persons
  31.  or things to be seized.

  33.  5th Amendment

  35.  No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise
  36.  infamous, crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a
  37.  grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces,
  38.  or in the militia, when in actual service, in time of war, or
  39.  public danger; nor shall any person be subject, for the same
  40.  offence, to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall
  41.  be compelled, in any criminal case, to be a witness against
  42.  himself; nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without
  43.  due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public
  44.  use, without just compensation.

  46.  6th Amendment

  48.  In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to 
  49.  a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and
  50.  district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which
  51.  district shall have been previously ascertained by law; and to be
  52.  informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be
  53.  confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory
  54.  process for obtaining witnesses in his favor; and to have the
  55.  assistance of counsel for his defence.
