  3.   LICENSE NUMBER FORMAT:
  4.   The  State  of  Texas  issues  an  eight  (8) digit numeric drivers
  5.   license number with no spacing or delimiting characters between the
  6.   digits.   License  numbers   are  sequentially   issued,  with   no
  7.   correlation between licensee's personal identifiers and the license
  8.   number: (nnnnnnnn).

  11.   DOCUMENT:
  12.   The plastic  laminated, photographic license,  manufactured by NBS,
  13.   Imaging Systems Division, displays the friver's photograph down the
  14.   right side of  the doucment. The photograph should  be overlaped on
  15.   the left edge by the green Department of Public Safety seal.

  18.   TERM:
  19.   License is valid four (4) years, expiring on the driver's birthday.
  20.   Four (4) year extensions permitted with extension sticker.

  23.   MINORS:
  24.   Subsequent  to September  1987, "UNDER  21" appears  in red phantom
  25.   letters across the front of the license. Drivers under 18 have a 45
  26.   degree profile photo and the word "PROVISONAL".

  29.   CDL:
  30.   "COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSE" is printed  in red below the director's
  31.   signature.
