  3.   LICENSE NUMBER FORMAT:
  4.   The  State  of  New  Hampshire  issues  a  ten (10) character alpha
  5.   numeric   license   number   without   punctuation  or  delimiters:
  6.   (nnAAAnnnnn)
  7.  
  8.   New Hampshire uses their own algorithm to generate a license number
  9.   from the driver's name and date of birth, breaking this information
  10.   into coded portions as follows:
  11.  
  12.   Month of Birth                        -  first two (2) characters
  13.   Last name and First name              -  next three (3) characters
  14.   Year of Birth                         -  next two (2) characters
  15.   Day of Birth                          -  next two (2) characters

  18.   DOCUMENT:
  19.   The  plastic   laminated,  photographic  license   manufactured  by
  20.   Polaroid, displays  the driver's photograph along  the left side of
  21.   the  document.  The  state  seal,  camera  number, and signature of
  22.   endorsement  should overlap  the right  edge of  the photograph.  A
  23.   pattern of "NEW HAMPSHIRE"

  26.   TERM:
  27.   Licenses  are valid  for up  to  four  (4) years,  expiring on  the
  28.   driver's birthday when  the driver's age is divisible  by four (4).
  29.   Some current issue licenses may be valid for up to seven years.

  32.   MINORS:
  33.   Licenses  issued  to  drivers  under  21  use  a to blue photograph
  34.   background.

  37.   CDL:
  38.   Commercial licenses  are indicated by  "COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE"
  39.   printed  below the  driver's name  and address  at the  top of  the
  40.   document.
