  3.   LICENSE NUMBER FORMAT:
  4.   The State of  Mississippi uses the  driver's Social Security Number
  5.   as the license  number.  At the  driver's request, Mississippi will
  6.   assign  a  nine (9)  character  numeric license  number  bearing no
  7.   correlation to the driver's personal identifiers.

  10.   DOCUMENT:
  11.   The  plastic  laminated, photographic license  manufactured by NBS,
  12.   Imaging Systems  Division, displays the  driver's photograph on the
  13.   left third of  the document.  License  headbar may state "MISSOURI"
  14.   or "THE HOSPITALITY STATE" and should show either the state outline
  15.   or  a magnolia  blossom in the  lower  right corner  of the textual
  16.   area.  The commissioner's  signature should overlap  the top of the
  17.   photograph.

  20.   TERM:
  21.   Licenses are  valid for  four (4)  years, expiring  on the driver's
  22.   birthday.  Licenses  issued prior  to January  1991 expired  on the
  23.   last day of the driver's birth month.

  26.   MINORS:
  27.   Licenses  issued  to  minors show  the  birth  date  highlighted in
  28.   yellow.  Current issue  licenses have "UNDER  21" stamped above the
  29.   signature.  Previous issues had "MINOR" in red above the signature.
  30.   Some issues showed "UNDER 21" stamped across the textual portion of
  31.   the document.

  35.   Commercial  licenses  are  indicated  by  a  red  state  heading of
  36.   "COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE".
