INDIANA
LICENSE NUMBER FORMAT:
The State of Indiana currently issues a ten (10) digit,
sequentially generated numeric license number that has no
correlation to the driver's personal identifiers, spaced 4-2-4.
DOCUMENT:
The plastic laminated, photographic license displays the driver's
photograph in the lower left corner. The camera number should be
printed in black, overlapping the top edge of the photograph.
Current issue license shows "INDIANA" printed in gold within the
laminate.
TERM:
License is valid for four (4) years, expiring on the last day of
the driver's birth month. Drivers 75 and older receive a three (3)
year license.
MINORS:
Licenses currently issued to minors show the date of the driver's
21st birthday shaded in red, and use a red photo backdrop.
CDL:
Commercial licenses show a yellow (rather than red) header bar and
"COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE" rather than "DRIVER'S LICENSE".
