14. LISTS
The Lists feature is a convenient means of keeping track of
items that are independent of the checking, budget, credit
cards, appointments, etc. Four kinds of lists are defined:
they are Grocery List, Job Jar List, I Need List, and I Want
List. Each list is separate and can be used to keep an
account of items in these categories. All four lists can
have items added or deleted. The Grocery and Job Jar lists
can be utilized to keep track of specific items through the
Mark and Search features. Selecting Lists from the Main
Menu brings up the Lists Secondary Menu. The selections on
this menu are Grocery, Job Jar, Need, and Want. Select the
desired list type to work on.
Selecting a List to work on brings up the action menu. The
actions to be taken on the selected list are: add an item,
delete an item, search the list, mark the list, display or
print the list, and quit. Selecting quit returns the user
to the Main Menu.
14.1 Grocery List
The Grocery List is intended for groceries or any other kind
of "shopping" list. A two line description of an item is
entered along with the quantity. The second line of the
description is optional. With this format, the list is very
general, and is intended to be that way so it can be used
according to user's needs. Grocery List items can be added,
deleted, listed, marked, and searched.
One way to use the Grocery List is to generate a list of all
the items you ever buy. When you want to generate a list
for this week, print the list, mark the items to purchase
this week and then with the Mark function, mark the list.
You can then print the "Marked" list. You can also print or
display the "Unmarked" list if needed or desired.
14.2 Job Jar List
The Job Jar list is intended for itemizing and scheduling
jobs. When an entry is made, again up to 2 lines, a due
date is requested and entered by the user. When a job is
completed, its completion date may be entered, or the entry
can be deleted. Some people like to see their results,
others like to remove a job as soon as it's completed. You
have that choice. The list can be searched for jobs that
are due on a given date or range of dates; likewise, you can
search the list for completed jobs on a given or range of
dates. The Job Jar list is a convenient way of keeping
track of both pending and completed "Jobs".

14.3 Want List and Need List
Both of these lists operate in the same manner. You can
either add to the lists or delete from them. No searching
is allowed. You can display either list on the screen or
print it out on your printer. These lists are handy for
keeping track of ideas, desires, and just about anything
else.
