What Is Split Board?
Split Board is a programme which lets a SysOp (System Operator) of a
BBS (Bulletin Board System) run Multiple Numbers Of BBS Software, Or
Have a Shuttle Log on. A Shuttle Log On lets the user do things like
"Page The SysOp" or "Leave A Message To Next User". What Split Board
is actually doing is giving the user options to run doors befor the
the user even logs on. This is good for any size or style bbs.
Split Board was made is Borlands Turbo Pascal 7.0 on March 5 1994.

Installing Split Board
To Install Split Board you need:
1. A Bulletin Board System
2. Doors To Run (External Page, Message To Next Caller, Etc...)
3. A Front End Mailer Or Answer Door (I.E. Front Door)
The First two are not 100% needed but I can`t think of a reason you
would need Split Board if you do not have them. But if you can think
of one, Go a head and use it.
The first thing you will probly need to install Split Board is a
BATCH FILE. (See the Next Group on Creating One )

Batch Files
To creat a batch file all you need is a Text Editor (Dos Editor)
An Example Batch File is included with the Programme but is maybe
not one you are used. The Batch file is the Main Batch File for a
BBS System running:
Ice Chat
Remote Access
Front Door
This Means if you are not running the following things you may need
to change it. There is a Maximum of 9 options.
Here is a structur of a good batch file for use with or without
Split Board.
REM : LOAD UP THE FOSSIL DRIVER
C:\BNU.COM
REM : Go To the Proper Directory were the Front End is
REM : Located.
CD C:\FD
REM : Run The Front End Mailer Or Answer Door.
FD
REM : Chech For Errorlevels and Go to the proper areas
REM : For the callers Baud Rate
REM : !IMPORTANT! Number of errorlevel must DECREASE!
IF ERRORLEVEL 200 GOTO 2400
IF ERRORLEVEL 190 GOTO 1200
IF ERRORLEVEL 180 GOTO 300
IF ERRORLEVEL 170 GOTO END
REM : Create Areas For GOTO`s
:2400
REM : In each Area Run Split Board
CD C:\SBOARD
SBOARD.EXE
REM : RE-CHECK Errorlevels to find What User Selected
IF ERRORLEVEL 3 GOTO BBS2400
IF ERRORLEVEL 2 GOTO PAGE2400
IF ERRORLEVEL 1 GOTO START
IF ERRORLEVEL 0 GOTO 2400
REM : Make Sub Areas to do the Required Things.
:BBS2400
CD C:\RA
RA -B2400 -N1
GOTO START
:PAGE2400
CD C:\ICECHAT
COPY C:\EXITINFO.BBS C:\RA\EXITINFO.BBS
ICECHAT
CD C:\SBOARD
GOTO 2400
REM : If all goes right, You should have the hard part
REM : Done.

More Installation
Next You need to make a ANSI and ASCII (SBOARD. ANS/ASC) screen, For
that you may need an ANSI/ASCII editor (The Draw).
Draw the Screen With the Number Beside the Name of the Programme that
the numbered errorlevel Loads (If that sounds hard to understand...
don`t worry) For Example,
If ErrorLevel "1" Loads Remote Access and ErrorLevel "2" loads
IceChat then you would Probly put down:
1) RemoteAccess 2.01+
2) IceChat 3.10a+
Next you will need a Config File...(SBOARD.CFG) In it you will need:
PORT OF MODEM
SPEED OF MODEM
BBS NAME
NUMBER FROM 1 - 9
The First line is the Comunications Port your modem is located on.
The second line is the Maximum Speed your modem can go.
The Third Line Is the Name Of Your BBS.
And the Last Line is Any Number from 1 - 9, Its not important what
number it is.

Questions
Q. Why in the Batch File Well loading IceChat does it Copy
Exitinfo.Bbs to the RA Directory.
A. This is because IceChat Requires a Drop File (DORINFO1.DEF or
EXITINFO.BBS) to run.
Q. I can`t Seem to create a working batch file.
A. In the MS-DOS Manual it explains how to create Batch Files
Also In the Front Door 2.02nc and Maybe your BBS software Docs
it may tell you more about creating batch files.
Q. Is there a 30 day trial period or registration fee or somthing
in this programme?
A. NO. This Programme is 100% FREE! A note to the Address Below
telling me you use the programme would be nice, but a fee or
any sort of charge is not needed.
Q. Were can i get the newest copy of Split Board.
A. If there is a new copy out you can find it on the GlobalTECH
support HQ. But i can`t produce a verion every day so if your
long distance you might not want to call to much...
