  1. Dear User,
  2.  
  3. When  you  upgrade  from  FileDoor  3.10Γ  (or lower) to this version of
  4. FileDoor (3.20 to 4.10),  you have to do some things, because the  names
  5. of the various files and programs have been changed !
  6.  
  7. Previously,  FileDoor  was  called  'FileDoor'  or 'XFD'. Because of the
  8. split between  FileDoor-LITE and  FileDoor-PRO, the  new FileDoor (which
  9. will be the  LITE version) is  now called FDL  (FileDoor-LITE). Names of
  10. support-files  and  some  extensions  have  changed.  Please  follow the
  11. instructions below:

  13. - If you  used environment variables  for FileDoor (called  FILEDOOR and
  14.   some XFDxxxxx), you must change them to FDL and FDLxxxxx;
  15.  
  16. - Your old FILEDOOR.CFG must be renamed to FDL.CFG;
  17.  
  18. - If you already had  a key (only registered users  and/or beta-testers)
  19.   you must rename  it from FILEDOOR.KEY  to FDL.KEY (the  key will still
  20.   work);
  21.  
  22. - For version 4.01 it is  mandatory that you compile the language  files
  23.   again. You need  the newly supplied  language files, of  which FDL.LAN
  24.   is  the  replacement  of  FILEDOOR.LAN.  All  language  files have new
  25.   records inside, so you can't use any PRE-3.20 versions anymore;
  26.  
  27. - Compile all your language files.  The extension will now be *.FLL  and
  28.   not  *.XFL  as  it  was  for  3.10 and previous versions. The language
  29.   compiler is now called FLL.EXE (Filedoor Lite Language compiler);
  30.  
  31. - Delete all *.XFL (old compiled language) files from your hard-disk;
  32.  
  33. - Change all batch-files AND menus that call the following programs:
  34.  
  35.   - FileDoor.EXE    change into FDL.EXE
  36.   - File_OVR.EXE    change into FDLOVR.EXE
  37.   - FileLang.EXE    change into FLL.EXE
  38.   - FileUser.EXE    change into FLU.EXE
  39.   - FileMain.EXE    change into FLM.EXE
  40.   - FD_UPD.EXE      change into FDLUPD.EXE
  41.  
  42.   Also change the RA/SBBS menus for language support. They use the  file
  43.   FILEDOOR.xxx  (FILEDOOR.RAT  and  FILEDOOR.SBE).  They  are now called
  44.   FDL.RAT and FDL.SBE.
  45.  
  46.   If you find it to much work,  you can also rename the programs to  the
  47.   old names.  Please observe  the documentation  about overlay-files  in
  48.   FDLDOCEN.DOC;
  49.  
  50. - The files  created by f.i.  MTA <tm> will  still use the  FILEDOOR.ext
  51.   format (ext being XS1,  XS2 or XS3). The  same goes for the  file that
  52.   can be  used by  FD_UPD.EXE (now  called FDLUPD.EXE)  which is has the
  53.   name FILEDOOR.UPD;
  54.  
  55. In general, all  FILEDOOR references are  changed into FDL  and also all
  56. references to XFD are changed into FDL !
