If you are upgrading your current version of DoorMan, please read
the following instructions carefully! If you do not follow them,
the current version probably won't work! These are the absolute
minimum steps required to upgrade. You should always read the
WHATSNEW.### file to see what new features have been added
and/or changed since the last version. Or, if you skip a
version, you should ready HISTORY.DOC for a list of all changes
made since v1.00. It's also a good idea to go through each
menu of DoorEdit and look for new items that need to be
configured. Only required steps will be listed here.
As with any program, make a back-up of your current version
before you upgrade! In the unlikely event that something goes
wrong, you will be able to get back to where you are now!
Regardless of which version your are upgrading from, the first
step is to run INSTALL.EXE and install the program to your
current DoorMan directory.

If Registered Copy
■ Copy KEY2CODE.EXE to your current DoorMan directory.
■ In DoorEdit - Global Defaults - BBS Information, doulbe
check the current BBS Name. This field will be used to
create your registration code and will be displayed in the
Registered To: field on when the program is run.
■ Run KEY2CODE to convert your .KEY file(s) to valid code(s)
■ Go into DoorEdit - Global Defaults - BBS Information and
*WRITE DOWN* your registration code(s)!
■ You can delete DOORMAN.KEY, DMGRAPH.KEY, and KEY2CODE.EXE
All Copies
■ Create a directory called MENU off of your current DoorMan
Directory
■ Unzip MENUTYPE.ZIP into that directory.
■ In DoorEdit - Global Defaults - File Information, specify
that directory as the directory for ANSI Menu Styles.
■ Read MENUTYPE.DOC for information regarding the new ANSI
Menu Styles!
■ If you call any .BAT files in the Run Commands of your
doors, you *MUST* put CALL in front of the name of the
batch file now! If you do not, you will find your system
setting there asking for the path to DMANRTM.EXE! It's
a small price to pay for a 20k decrease in the memory
over head required by DoorMan. For instance, if you are
running Wildcat and you are still calling up one of your
old DOOR#.BAT files, you would put CALL DOOR#.BAT now.
■ If you are running under a Novell network, you MUST set
the "Using Novell" question in BBS Configuration to Yes.
