JAYHAWK REPORT: MISC. U.S. CITIES

In Parts I & II I discussed the scene in California.  Here is some info on
misc. other U.S. cities.

III. Other U.S. Cities

     In several cases, the information listed below is based on a single
visit to the indicated city; therefore, don't consider this the definitive
word on any of these locations.

     A. Street Sex

        1. Columbus, Ohio

     Columbus is the pits for finding sex.  The massage parlors are awful
(see comments below under Massage) and street sex is limited.  The only place
I have had any luck is on High Street between around 1st and 15th.  There are
a few girls working on any night and some cheap motels not far from there
that they use.  I got a $25 blow job in the car from a rather plain looking
blonde.

        2. Miami, Florida

     Miami has shut down all the massage parlors so the classier girls have
gone to escort services and the less classy are on the street.  Try Route 1
between about 80th and 50th Streets.  In 1991, at 68th and Route 1 I got a
great blow job in a dark parking lot from a really nice looking blonde for
$20.

        3. Norfolk, Virginia

     Like San Diego, Norfolk has lots of naval/military bases, so there is a
fair amount of action.  All the massage parlors are more-or-less legit, so
the street is the main source for girls.  Any major commercial zone is a
possible source of girls, but I have seen the most on Shore Dr. (which
becomes E. Ocean View Avenue) between about 2nd and 21st Streets.  I got a
good blow job in the car at 21st and Shore for $30.  There are also some
cheap motels near there.  Two different girls have told me that cops are
really bad in the area so use care.

        4. Portland, Oregon

     Portland has one very gritty section of town bordered by N.E. Sandy
Avenue, W. Burnside (up to and including the Burnside Bridge), S.E. Union and
around S.E. 13th.  You can also find them on N.E. Sandy between about N.E.
33rd and S.E. 7th Streets, and on Burnside across the river.  On any given
night you should find between 5-10 girls working.  In 1994 I picked up a
gorgeous blonde at 16th and Sandy and had a blow job and anal sex for $100.
 One other point to note about Portland is that there are several "massage
and modeling" parlors that charge between $40-80 entry fee.  These are a
rip-off as girls will take of their clothes, but you can't touch them. The
adult book stores also have free pick-up magazines that have lots of
information on topless bars, escorts, etc.

        5. Washington, DC

     Washington used to have a terrific selection of girls, but AIDS has cut
into the business quite a bit.  There is also a law in DC now that allows the
cops to impound the cars of johns, so this has cut down on business.  Fewer
johns means fewer girls working.  The area around McPherson Square,
especially H, I, K, and L Streets between about 10th and 16th Streets is the
best site.  In the late 80's there would be up to 100 (!!) girls working
during the night.  You could drive through the area and they would line up at
the curb to give you a good look.  Traffic got so bad from all the johns in
the area that the police would erect barricades starting around 8pm to force
traffic off the side streets. My last time there (in 1992) it was greatly
reduced, but I still saw about 20 girls in the course of 30 min driving
around the area.  Prices vary wildly depending on the girl.  A blowjob
usually runs $30-60, sex is $50-100, and anal is $70-150.  About 30% of the
girls will do anal.  In 1988 I got a great blow job + anal sex for $70 from a
really nice looking brunette. There is lots of drugs and crime in DC, so use
extreme caution!

     B. Massage

     Nearly all the massage parlors listed below were found simply by looking
under Massage or Escort in the Yellow Pages.  Some cities have magazines that
list massage places and escorts, and these can be found in adult book
stores...which in turn can be found in the Yellow Pages.  My advice if you
are in a new city: Let your fingers do the walking!

        1. Boston, MA

     Boston used to be a major sex capital, but most places, especially the
notorious "Combat Zone" have been shut down.  The Yellow Pages list a few
massage places, and the only one I found that was not legit was Old English
Spa.  There is a $60 entry fee that entitles you to a shower, then you walk
into a large room where 10-15 girls are hanging around watching TV, most
wearing one-piece bathing suits.  The girls range from plain to pretty, I
would rate them at 5-8, but no knockouts.  When you see a girl you like, you
hand her this ticket you are given and she leads you to a private room.
 These rooms have no locks on the doors and have a small window in the door!
They will turn down the lights real low and do pretty much anything extra for
a tip.  It cost me $70 for a mediocre blow job, so given the high cost and
poor surroundings, I don't recommend this unless you are desperate.  I was
there in 1991 and the girl told me the place might be closing soon, so I
don't even know if it is still there.

        2. Chapel Hill, NC

     Chapel Hill has a couple of places.  University Massage (on College Ave.
I think) has an entry fee that is pretty high.  It used to be about $45 for
30 min in the late 80's, but now it is more like $65-70.  This usually
includes a mediocre backrub and a hand job, and girls will do more for tips.
BJ + sex is around $100 extra, putting this ($170 total) at the very
expensive end.  Save your money and go to Raleigh or Greensboro instead.

        3. Raleigh, NC

     Raleigh doesn't have much, but one place worth mentioning is Tom Cats on
Route 70 north of Raleigh (and not actually within the city limits).  Check
the Yellow Pages for the address.  I haven't been there since 1988-90, so it
may be gone, but I know it was around for many years so it may still be
there.  This is a bit of a weird operation.  You pay a "membership fee" that
is $1 or $2 to get you a one-year membership.  They do this solely to get
access to your driver's license to see if you are a cop.  (I believe in NC
all cops must have a chauffeur's license so they screen guys this way.)
 After you pay the $1, you enter a little foyer where a girl explains the
pricing to you.  Basically it is (was in 1989) $40 if the girl keeps clothes
on, $60 she's topless and no touching below the waist, $80 for nude and you
can touch anywhere, and $100 if she takes a shower with you.  You have no
choice of girls, but everyone I've seen there has been a 9+.  I usually pick
the $80 and this includes 45 min of rubbing and licking the girl all over
followed by a super hand job.  The two times I've been there the girl
wouldn't do anything besides the hand job.  If the girl likes you (you are
clean and polite) she will let you put your fingers in her pussy, but I've
been told they often don't let guys do this if they look, smell, or act
badly!  The girls I've had (and a few others I've seen working there) are all
gorgeous, with D-cup or better.  Most are students or other part-timers, not
really pros, and as such are some of the nicest, most intelligent girls I've
ever been with!  The owner is obviously looking for a certain type of girl
and hires only the best.  If you can settle for a hand job, this place is
highly recommended.

        4. Greensboro, NC

     Greensboro (about 1 hr east of Chapel Hill, 75 min from Raleigh) has a
glut of Asian massage places.  These come and go, so check the Yellow Pages.
The last time I was there (1989) it was only about $25-30 entry fee.  All the
places are topless massage, which means the girl pulls down her top (usually
a 1-piece bathing suit) while she gives you a pretty respectable backrub.  I
particularly like when she ask you to roll over onto your back and she rub
her tits all over your prick...which is all it takes to get you interested in
tipping her for an extra service.  A handjob is $25-35, blow job is $30-40,
and sex is $50-60.  Again, these prices are 6 years old, so they have
probably gone up.  I've tried a couple of places and couldn't get anal sex.
 Highly recommended, and well worth the drive from the Raleigh area.

        5. Cleveland, OH

     There used to be 10 or more massage places in the Greater Cleveland
area, but all have been shut down.  To get a massage you now need to venture
pretty far out.  Check the Cleveland Yellow Pages for some listings.  The
best action can be found in Warren and Youngstown, about a 1-hour drive east
on the Ohio Turnpike.  Only one or two list addresses and phones in the
Cleveland directory, so for a full selection you need to get a hold of a
Warren/Youngstown Yellow Pages. I was just there (March, 1995) and went to a
place on E. Market Street in Warren called something like Oriental Health
Spa.  It was $45 for one hour and that included some time in a sauna and a
great full body shampoo followed by a very good full body massage.  The girl
(I think her name was Penny) was a 9+ Korean girl with one of the best bodies
I have ever seen, she was very friendly, and gave a first rate blow job for
$70.  Highly recommended!

        6. Columbus, OH

     There are half a dozen massage places in Columbus and they are all a
complete rip-off.  The entry price of $60 for 30 min is pretty steep, but an
attractive girl that greets you has a great come-on that implies she will do
more for a tip.  The tip, it turns out, will get her to take her clothes off
and that's it!  $60 will get the girl to take her top off, but she won't let
you touch her.  You are allowed to masturbate while looking at her.  For the
$120 it costs you will do better to buy a Playboy and beat off in your hotel
room.  I have been in two different massage places with the same arrangement,
and I understand this is how it works city wide.

        7. Toledo, OH

     Unlike Cleveland and Columbus, Toledo is pretty wide open for massage
parlors.  There are several Asian places in the Yellow Pages and the one I
checked out (in 1989) was pretty good.  Entry fee was $40 and I got a good
blow job for $40.  Sex was available for $60, but not anal.

        8. Dallas, TX

     Dallas used to have a few places within the city limits (Palm Island
Bath was the best), but they have all moved to an area far north of the city.
 Check the Yellow Pages for addresses and phone numbers.  This is about a $40
one-way cab ride, but I negotiated with the cab driver, since it was a slow
night for him, to give me a $50 round-trip.  He went down the road for fast
food while I got my rocks off.  You might do better to rent a car for a day.
 The places change names a lot and, in fact, Palm Island Bath has a sign that
says "Paradise" so I wasted a lot of time looking for a Palm Island sign.  I
have been to Palm Island twice and I recommend it.  Once inside, it is kind
of like Mustang Ranch in Reno; about 8 girls will line up that you can choose
from.  They are mostly Texas blondes, plus 1-2 blacks or Asians.  Entry fee
used to be $35, but they now changed to a funny scale where it is only about
$20 for the first half hour, and you can pay more if you want to add time
after you've been there for awhile.  This saves you a little money if you
want to just get in and out (so to speak) in a hurry.  The first time I got a
really nice brunette who gave me a first-rate nude hand job for $35. The
second time I had a gorgeous, leggy blonde who wanted $100 for either a blow
job or sex, $150 for both, but would not do anal.  I complained about the
expensive cab ride, and she dropped to $90 for an absolutely outstanding blow
job.  A bit expensive, but worth it.

        9. New Orleans

     I was fairly recently (October 93) in New Orleans and there are only a
couple of places listed in the Yellow Pages.  I tried a place on Baronne
Avenue (don't remember the name) that was all Asian.  It was $40 for 30 min
and $60 for 1 hr.  Take the half hour, since once the girl is finished she
will stop...which in my case was about 35 min.  I had a nice looking Korean
girl who was an anal virgin and said she would try anal sex for $80, but when
I started she said it hurt so we switched to straight sex.  Pretty good
service.  By the way, I roamed all over the French Quarter looking for
streetwalkers and had no luck finding any.  The old Playboy article on "Sex
in New Orleans" was no help at all!

       10. Philadelphia, PA

     Philly has several great massage places.  These are listed in the Yellow
Pages, but I also recommend an adult newspaper available in all adult
bookstores.  I can't remember the name, but any book store will know what you
are talking about if you ask.  It includes ads and detailed profiles on many
places.  They even have reports who write reviews of experiences they have
had!  A recent trend in the city is "Safe Sex" massage places, where for
$45-50 (no additional tip required) you get a full body massage and hand
job...and nothing else.

     The best massage places are on Race Street.  The names have changed a
few times, but one is at 1201 Race Street (just a few blocks off Broad St.)
and the best one is at 1211 Race Street.  Both of these are very nondescript
places that have no massage sign outside; you have to know where they are or
you'll never find them!  Both require you to take stairs or an elevator to an
upstairs room.  It looks creepy going in, but then opens up to a fairly
elegant, classy operation.  Both places are recommended, but 1201 Race
assigns a girl, whereas 1211 Race has every available girl come into your
room one-by-one for a good look, so I prefer the latter.  The hostess then
asks you to pick your girl.  She leads you to a shower room where you lie on
a soft bench and she soaps and showers you all over. She dries you off (all
over!) and leads you to a room.  They used to have a mattress in the room,
but around 1993 the city made them take them out.  The girl will put down a
small mat, which doesn't provide much cushioning, but is better than just
being on carpet.  You'll get a pretty good backrub and anything else for a
tip.  I've gotten a blow job for $50-60 and BJ+sex for $80, and none would do
anal.  Once at 1211 Race the girl I picked got tied up for some reason and
the hostess (who was a knockout) showered me and started the massage, then
the other girl took over when she became available.  In 1990 at 1211 Race I
had the greatest massage experience of my life with a Korean who was a 10+,
sweet as can be, and gave one of the best blow jobs I've ever dreamed of.
 Her name was Diane and, alas, she left a few months later, but I have never
forgotten the experience.  I tried Bangkok Massage once, but had a rather
snooty girl who reluctantly gave me a handjob for $40, so I never went back
there.

       11. Reno, NV

     So much has been written about the Nevada scene (see WWW site:
http://www.paranoia.com/faq/prostitution/Nevada.html) that there is little
more I can add.  My one experience was with the Mustang Ranch, which is only
about a 15 min. drive from Reno/Sparks.  I had about 9 girls to choose from
that ranged from 6-9 in quality.  I picked a really cute little Thai (named
Tiwa I think) who had never tried anal.  She agreed to try anal for $100, but
stopped right after we started because she said it hurt.  She then agreed to
do a BJ + sex for the $100 and it was well worth it.  She told me the girl
keeps 50% and the house gets 50%.  All the stories about the girls carefully
washing and inspecting your bits are quite true.  I felt like I was being
checked by a urologist...in a fun sort of way.

       12. Seattle, WA

     Seattle is pretty much of a rip-off for massage parlors.  A few are
listed in the Yellow Pages.  I went to all of them one evening in 1992 and
most had some of the ugliest women you've ever seen.  I got in a fight with
one who was insulted when I asked if there were any other women working.  As
I was walking away, she yelled, "What d'ya want, Miss America?"  One place on
American Highway had a white and an Asian working.  I picked the Asian.  It
was $40 entry and while the massage was so-so, I learned a lot while talking
with her.  In Seattle, everyone working in a massage place must be state
licensed, and it is so much work that few girls bother.  The girl I had was
very cautious, first saying she only did massage, then when I pressed the
issue, she wondered aloud about why guys always want extras.  She ended up
giving me a mediocre hand job for $50.  Generally a disappointment.

       13. Washington, DC

     Massage parlors, per se, are illegal in DC, and in many of the
surrounding Virginia and MD cities.  You can still find it, but it takes a
little extra work.  Look under Massage or Escort in the Yellow Pages.
 Everyone you call will say, "We don't offer massage."  They all offer
"relaxation" or "adult conversation."  Capital Health Club in DC charges
about $60 for 30 min entry, and this includes a free hand job.  I didn't care
for the girl I got (an overweight blonde, although she did have very nice,
enormous tits), so I didn't ask for anything extra.  Capital Bath House (or
some name like this) was only fair; $50 for entry fee and $45 for a topless
hand job.  One place, also in DC, the name I forgot, offers "bathing" where
for $90 the girl will get in the tub with you, washing ALL of your parts, and
ending with a hand job.

     A few places in Maryland are really just brothels.  These change names
and locations constantly so check the phone book under both Massage and
Escort.  If they just list a phone it is probably out-call only, but if there
is an address it may be a brothel.  These are often in large old houses out
in the middle of nowhere so you will need a car.  You are led into a room
with a large bed and every girl will come into the room one-by-one to ask
what you want.  You can usually get whatever you desire, but they tend to be
a bit expensive.  If you choose to stay, the room is $40-50, and the tip is
on top of that; $40-60 for hand job, $50-90 for blow job, more for sex and
beyond. You don't have to pay until you choose a girl. One place I went I
didn't care for any of the girls and left without paying anything.  An
advantage of this is that you can negotiate exactly what you are going to get
before shelling out a dime.  A disadvantage is that girl #2 may look great
and you'll negotiate what you want, but you'll never get to girl #3 who might
have looked even better or offered a better deal!

       14. St Louis, MO

     St. Louis used to have a few massage places, but these seem to have all
been shut down or moved across the river to Illinois.  Far East Massage used
to be in St. Louis proper, but has now moved to the Illinois side of the
river, but is still listed in the St. Louis Yellow Pages.  Around 1988, at
Far East I got a nice Asian massage for $40 and a topless hand job for
another $40.  I recently (February 1995) called and the price is still the
same, but I didn't check it out.  There are several places in Brooklyn, IL
(Fantasyland is probably the biggest) that are only a 10-min drive from
downtown St. Louis.  Fantasyland is more expensive, $60 for 30 min, $80 hr,
but is supposed to be nice; I have not tried it.  Fantasyland also offers
free limo service to and from downtown hotels!

       15.  Baltimore, MD

     I recently (January, 1995) spent time in Baltimore.  There are several
massage places, mostly Asian, in and around Baltimore.  Most charge $40-60
entry fee, but I didn't have a chance to try any of these.
