- Notes on NuPOP 1.1
- Homewood Academic Computing
-
- 1. A note on the files contained in the ZIP archive:
- -------------------------------------------------
- HAC_READ.ME This file.
- AAREADME.1ST A readme file from the authors at Northwestern Univ.
- NUPOP.* The NuPOP program files. When run, NuPOP will create
- additional files and directories.
- WINPKT.* "Virtual" packet driver for use with Windows.
- *.WP The NuPOP user/installation manuals--latest versions
- available. In WordPerfect 5.1 format.
-
- 2. To begin installation and use:
- ------------------------------
- You must have a PC with an Ethernet board and a Crnwyr (Clarkson)
- packet driver. If you are using Clarkson or NCSA Telnet now,
- you can most likely run NuPOP. You should un-zip the archive into
- a new directory on your hard disk (\NUPOP recommended). Start
- the program by changing to the NuPOP directory, and type NUPOP.
- When you start the program for the first time, several screens will
- appear prompting you for configuration information: User Configuration,
- General Preferences, Message Preferences, and Network Settings.
- Examine the file-based manuals or online help for instructions, or
- call HAC Microcomputer Support. If you make a mistake in configuring,
- it can be changed later from the "Options" menu.
