First things first... │
──────────────────────┘
Well, if you are reading this text, I thank you for taking the trouble to
do so. This is just to inform you that CLASSIKA won second place at the
DEMO PARTY '94 held in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia on the 26th of June, 1994.
The DEMO PARTY '94 was a real disappointment for RENEGADE DEMO GROUP as
we could clearly see that our demo was superior to the competition's. The
five months work building the music and graphics library was really not
worth it. It shows that good planning and planning ahead does not pay.
It's better for people to copy/rip/use other peoples MOD player and and
music modules (as seen in the DEMO PARTY '94) instead of coding your own
MOD player and writing your own MODules (like what we did, CODE IT OURSELVES.
But no, we were even accused of ripping the MOD from somebody else... can't
Malaysian demo groups be good?! Why is it that when we are good, we are
accused of ripping/stealing?!).
CLASSIKA was coded entirely by us from the music player, the actual modules
to the graphics. The only parts that were not coded by us was Turbo Pascal,
and Turbo Assembler (thanx Borland). I was really shocked when people said
that we ripped the modules used in CLASSIKA. Others said we immitated a lot
from other demos. You lamers out there, if you have nothing good or better
to say... SHUT UP!
Anyway, I believe the local demo scene here (in Malaysia) is just as good
(if not better) than Singapore's. All it takes is for more people to be
interested in coding and writing demos. Don't care that it's not as good as
the Europeans, but you/me/we'll get there sooner or later. I mean, you can't
just buy a book on how to write demos, right?

About CLASSIKA │
───────────────┘
CLASSIKA was called what it was called becoz we wanted to see if we at
RENEGADE could pass the _classics_ test, by trying to do all the classical
parts of all the famous demos by groups like Future Crew, Triton, Renaissance,
Cascada, etc.
As you can see, we have managed to create (immitate) parts of demos done by
the great gurus of the demo world. Here is a bit of info about CLASSIKA...
CLASSIKA was:
- coded using both Turbo Pascal and Turbo Assembler.
- our debut into 3D Surround Sound (thanx Alchemist for your help and info
on this)
- designed with a 486DX-33, ISA bus, 8 Meg, Trident SVGA (8900CL), GUS equipt
system with two 40 Megs Seagate hard disks.
CLASSIKA requires:
- 80386DX-40 (minimum), 80486DX-33 (optimal), Pentium (???).
- VGA graphics card and monitor.
- 600K free base memory.
- 512K GUS card (optional).
Note: CLASSIKA will work even on a slow computer, but the graphics and music
will not be in sync. A speed of 2170000 ticks (ie. 486DX-33) or higher
is highly recommended.

Results of the DEMO PARTY '94 │
──────────────────────────────┘
Anyway, by public opinion (if you call 34 people THE PUBLIC), these are the
official results of the DEMO PARTY '94.
1st Place: AWRY - Ancient Abyss
2nd Place: CLASSIKA - Renegade Demo Group
3rd Place: PARTICLE - DawnBreakers

Who/What is the RENEGADE DEMO GROUP? │
─────────────────────────────────────┘
The RENEGADE DEMO GROUP (RDG) was founded in May, 1993 by AudioJack. The first
demo called INTENSE was coded entirely by AudioJack. In January 1994, Tachyon
joined RDG, followed by TechnoMaestro and Epsilon a month (Febuary) later.
CLASSIKA is RDG's second demo and a premiere for it's two new coders and
musician. As you can see (you did run the demo now didn't you?) RDG has
improved a great since INTENSE.
