  18. As an ISDN line subscriber, I am writing to support Pacific Bell's petition 
  19. to waive the requirement that raises the number of subscriber line charges 
  20. for ISDN, and I strongly encourage the Federal Communications Commission to 
  21. act favorably on Pacific Bell's petition.
  22.  
  23. This order, which will result in rate hikes of up to 50 percent in California, 
  24. will only stifle the rapid growth and acceptance of this powerful technology 
  25. by making it prohibitively expensive.  Today, ISDN provides quick, affordable 
  26. access to the Internet, enabling schools, libraries, non-profit organizations, 
  27. government facilities, small businesses and researchers nationwide to tap into 
  28. vast on-line resources and information.  In addition, ISDN is a major force in 
  29. the burgeoning telecommuting movement, which heightens corporate productivity 
  30. while protecting our environment.
