Readers turn to Features to learn what makes one computer system hot (or not) in a comparative roundup, or discover which personal finance software will best fill their needs. It's this analysis and synthesis of information that Patty finds particularly intriguing. And while she enjoys discussing how personal computing provides access to unlimited sources of information, Patty doesn't mind her other responsibility of playing firefighter once in a while. "I often find myself hosing down one crisis or another, whether it's a fact that needs double checking or a project that I've got to pull out from under the deadline wire."
Prior to working for Computer Life, Patty was an assistant editor at MacUser, where she learned the ropes of putting together a computer magazine with a technical bent. As a result, she brings with her a somewhat scientific approach to gathering products for stories, along with plenty of excitement about working for a consumer magazine.
