  1. I ordered a subscription some time ago. When will I see my first copy?

You should allow at least 30 days from when you order the subscription to when your first copy arrives. The delay has to do with the postal service and the way orders are fulfilled (see chart below). If you feel you're experiencing an unusual delay, please contact us at the numbers listed above.

  17. *Why the wide variation in timing? If your order just misses the cutoff for an issue, it may have to wait 4-5 weeks for the next issue.

  19. CD-ROMs, because they're pressed quarterly, might take even longer to arrive. In the event of a lengthy delay you will be notified. In general, though, the faster we can get your order on file, the faster we can get you an issue.

  21. Ways to speed things up: 
  22. a. on insert cards, print your name and address. If you want to send payment, enclose it and the order card in an envelope, sent to the same address as on the card.
  23. b. on pre-printed pieces such as direct mail, invoices and renewals, only write the minimum necessary to process your order. If the have questions about your account, please include them on a separate piece of paper, along with name of publication, and your name and address.

Yes, delivery of copies to non-US addresses can be extremely slow. International subscribers should allow at least two-three months (8-12 weeks) for their subscription to begin. If you feel you're experiencing an unusually long delay, please contact us at the numbers shown above. But there is a better, though more expensive, way: having your issues shipped as air printed matter. This is more expensive but cuts delivery times tremendously.  Rates vary by region and are quoted below in US dollars. You can order your subscription at these rates via the telephone number or via fax. These prices are as of 10/5/94 and are subject to change.
