- Database Menu:
-
- Choosing this selection will bring you to another menu that looks like this:
-
- Return to Main Menu
- Add/Change Data
- Review Data
- Change Database
- P - Printer Toggle [Off]
-
- These selections will be described in order... Return to Main Menu is obvious
- and will be skipped.
-
-
-
- Add/Change Data:
-
- Selecting this option is normally the first thing you should do when using the
- program from draw to draw. It will show you two rows of boxes, the top row
- consisting of the following:
-
- 1. Game number: LottoMaster can contain up to 105 sets of lotto data, this
- number can normally be ignored by you... when adding data however, it will
- automatically save the data if this number goes over 130. This would normally
- only happen when you are adding many lotto draws, such as when you first start.
-
- 2. DOW: Day of Week - if you set up the lotto configuration correctly, this
- simply shows the lotto draw date for the data you are entering. You cannot
- change the day shown in this box. It is calculated from the Month/Day/Year.
-
- 3. Month/Day/Year: This date will automatically be calculated for you for each
- draw - it is the next date that the program does not have data for. If you are
- changing data, rather than adding, this date must be the date you are changing
- the data for...
-
- 4. First, Second, Third, etc: Enter the lotto numbers drawn on this date. The
- cursor will automatically jump to the next box if two digits are entered. To
- get maximum speed when entering data, enter one digit numbers with a '0' in
- front... Press the cursor down key to enter another date, or hit the 'ESC'ape
- key to save your data. You may also 'insert' or 'delete' a particular lotto
- date of data. This should rarely be useful, since the program automatically
- calculates and shows you what date you should be entering data for. If you are
- entering a large number of lotto draws at one time: Hit 'A' to enable the Auto-
- mode operation. This will automatically move to the next date after all the winning numbers are entered for one draw.
-
-
- Review Data:
-
- This will display all the data for a particular lotto database. It will give
- you the following information:
-
- 1. Game: What game (from 1-105) this represents. Number one being the earliest
- data in the database, and number 105 being the most recent draw date.
-
- 2. Date: Naturally, the date of the draw.
-
- 3. Number Database: This is the listing of the numbers drawn, sorted from low
- to high number, and Bonus number (if your lotto uses bonus numbers)
-
- 4. Average: This is the numerical average of the numbers chosen.
-
- 5. Odd: How many numbers are 'odd' (not evenly divisible by 2) - keep your
- lotto number picks in this same range!!
-
- 6. Sum: This is the sum of all the numbers drawn. (Just add up all the numbers
- drawn to get the 'sum') Again, keep your lotto picks in this same range if you
- want to have a reasonable chance at winning!
-
- 7. Difference: This is the difference between the 'theoretical' sum, and the
- actual sum of this game. The theoretical sum is derived by adding up all the
- numbers from 1 to the highest number allowed, dividing that by the highest
- number, then multiplying that by the number of numbers chosen. As an example:
- in a 5/30 game:
-
- 1+2+3+4+...30 = 465
- 465 / 30 = 15.5
- 15.5 x 5 = 77.5
-
- For a 5/30 game then: the 'average' sum should be around 77.5 Make sure that
- your lotto picks are close to this number. For those of you who are mathemati-
- cally inclined: this sum forms a 'Bell Curve', and the top of the bell curve
- would be the '77.5'

- Change Database:
-
- You will be presented with a choice of three databases - just cursor to the
- database you wish to analyze and press return. If you press 'H' or the Help
- key, you will be presented with other options:
-
- 1. [N]ew Database Name: Hit 'N' to rename the database's name.
-
- 2. [C]reate Database: Hit 'C' to create a new database - you MUST scratch the
- old one first... then just answer the questions that LottoMaster asks you.
-
- 3. [S]cratch Database: Hit 'S' while the database you wish to scratch is
- hi-lighted.
