  1. Hanover Raid Intercepted by Mass Attack
  2.  
  3. Before the Luftwaffe found itself with
  4. dwindling numbers, American bombers were
  5. faced with large scale mass attacks by
  6. enemy fighters. These attacks usually
  7. started from head-on where the German
  8. pilots would normally face less fire
  9. power and could hit more critical areas
  10. on the B17, such as the cockpit and
  11. engines. More than once it happened 
  12. that an entire element a B-17 formation
  13. would be shot down in one attack.
  14.  
  15. This mission simulates a bombing mission
  16. to the Hanover railroad yards. As the
  17. mission starts you will already see the
  18. enemy fighters approaching you in a line
  19. abreast formation ready for their first
  20. attack. You better hurry and get your
  21. guns manned and ready because they will
  22. be on you in a short while. Since the
  23. scale of the mission builder doesn't 
  24. allow for 100 plane scenarios, some 
  25. adjustments were made to the German
  26. fighter pilot skill levels. You will
  27. find some a simple threat, others a bit
  28. more dangerous, and a few downright
  29. deadly.

  31. Fight your way through the waves of 
  32. enemy fighters and bomb the railyard
  33. at Hanover and make it back home again
  34. alive!

  36. This one isn't going to be easy and 
  37. you may have to jettison your load and
  38. run for home before you become a sitting
  39. duck!
