  5.                You can travel the world in style -- sleeping
  6.           at the Ritz in Madrid, lunching at the Balzar in
  7.           Paris, taking high tea at the Hyde Park Hotel in
  8.           London, jetting across the ocean on the Concorde,
  9.           no less -- as the guest of a gentleman (or -woman)
  10.           who has the time and money to travel but no one
  11.           with whom to share the experience. More and more
  12.           well-to-do would-be travelers are employing
  13.           professional companions, paying them well, and then
  14.           rewarding them further with first-class trips to
  15.           the world's most exotic destinations.
  16.                The requirements for the job are easy to fill.
  17.           Generally, you must be friendly, reliable, neat,
  18.           easy to get along with, and willing to travel.
  19.           Language ability and previous travel experience are
  20.           pluses, but they are not necessary.
  21.                You can advertise yourself as a traveling
  22.           companion in the classified section of a travel
  23.           magazine or newsletter. Indicate when you are
  24.           available to travel, any previous travel
  25.           experience, any language ability, and a number to
  26.           call for more information. You will be asked to
  27.           produce references. And then you will be asked if
  28.           you're ready for a week in the Caribbean...or a few
  29.           days  wandering the museums  of London...or a month
  30.           exploring the Irish countryside.
