CORPORATE OVERVIEW
If all you do is work for someone else, then your job (and your security)
might not last any longer than your current contract.
Job security is a thing of the past. The largest corporations are laying
off 50,000 people at a time due to the economy, foreign competition, and
the declining defense budget. Smaller companies cannot afford to keep staff
on payroll in between contracts, and those professionals who are fortunate
enough to be employed are usually under-compensated. The only way for you
to ensure your security is to spend at least part of your time working for
yourself.
D.L. Boone & Company was formed in order to enable the members of the
professional services community to take their careers into their own hands.
We are a start-up corporation, established in January 1993, that is
establishing a self-financing and self-sustaining network of systems,
engineering and management consulting professionals. This
interdisciplinary network of professionals operates across organizational
and corporate boundaries. It consists of independent consultants,
experienced victims of downsizing or "early retirement", currently
employed professionals in both the public and private sectors, and
recent college graduates. Admission to this network is selective,
and is based on an assessment of whether your skills, experience and
education are complementary to those within the network, and are in line
with our overall objectives.
If you qualify to join our network of professionals:
- We offer full-time, part-time and telecommuting contract
arrangements for those selected for proposal development teams
- We offer full-time contracts for those selected for our
project teams
- We will pay you for recruiting qualified professionals into
the network
- We will pay you five percent of net profit for information
that results directly in the corporation receiving a contract award
- We offer full-time positions (with profit sharing) on our
corporate staff to a select few
D.L. Boone & Company's initial goal is to build the most extensive
network of management, engineering and systems professionals in the Greater
Washington/Baltimore area -- a network that will be uniquely qualified to
undertake a wide range of both public and private sector contracts. We
also plan to establish networks in other technology centers, with the goal
of building a national and international network rivaling that of the
world's largest professional services organizations.
As an Associate Consultant of D.L. Boone & Company, you can be a part of
this dynamic growth. You will be associated with the most forward-looking
concept ever devised for the management and delivery of professional
services. You will have the opportunity to earn a competitive income
through participation as a member of our engagement and/or proposal
development teams, as well as through the recruitment of qualified
consultants into the network. With the exception of some engagement
team positions, being an Associate Consultant carries no full-time
responsibilities -- you will be able to maintain whatever business or
employment obligations you have currently. Of course, your options
within the network increase with the time that you are able to invest.
There are six categories of compensation opportunities as an Associate
Consultant:
- Paid positions on proposal development teams
As a D.L. Boone & Company Associate Consultant, your resume, as well as a
personal profile (outlining your skills, experience, education and
availability), will be entered into our database. For every proposal
that the Company submits, we assemble a proposal development team from
Associate Consultants with the appropriate mix of skills and experience.
Qualified Associate Consultants will be asked to interview for a position
on the team. In many cases, the proposal manager will be an Associate
Consultant, rather than a member of the corporate staff. Positions on
these proposal development teams are compensated at a competitive rate
commensurate with skills, experience and education. In addition, many
proposal development team positions can accommodate a flexible work
schedule, and meetings are scheduled so as not to interfere with those
Associate Consultants who maintain additional responsibilities.
- Paid positions on engagement teams
Using the same personal profile described above, members of each engagement
team are selected based on their skills, experience, education and
availability. Again, the engagement manager will often be an Associate
Consultant, rather than a member of the corporate staff. Positions on
these engagement teams, like those for proposal development, are compensated
at a competitive rate commensurate with skills, experience and education.
Most engagement team positions will require a full-time commitment,
however, the Company attempts to accommodate those Associate Consultants
who maintain additional responsibilities.
- Bonuses for recruiting qualified consultants into the network
Every D.L. Boone & Company Associate Consultant has the opportunity to
earn commissions through the sponsorship of new Associate Consultants.
As a sponsor, you will receive a commission equal to one-third of the
first year's assessment for each qualified Associate Consultant that you
recruit into the network. Consequently, sponsoring three new Associate
Consultants will offset your own assessment. By sponsoring new Associate
Consultants, you can not only earn commissions for yourself, but also help
to broaden and build the skill base within the network.
- Profit Sharing opportunities through Business Development activities
We know that the best way to ensure our Company's growth is to have our
Associate Consultants actively involved in the business development process.
Because of this, we offer all of our Associate Consultants the following
incentive:
You will be eligible to participate in the Company's net profit to the
extent of FIVE PERCENT, as accrued, if a qualified lead submitted by you
results in the Company being awarded a contract based on that lead. In
addition, you will most likely be offered a position on the engagement team
depending upon your skills, experience and availability.
D.L. Boone & Company is offering this incentive to be certain that it will
be in both our interest and yours that opportunities for the Company to win
contracts are brought to our attention as quickly as possible.
- Opportunities to join the corporate staff
As D.L. Boone & Company continues to grow, we will have a need for
additional personnel to contribute to the full-time responsibilities of
managing the Company. We will need proposal managers, engagement managers,
industry specialists, contracting specialists, technical specialists and
other people critical to the operation of our network and our Company.
We believe strongly in promotion from within, and it is our policy to give
consideration to Associate Consultants in filling these positions before
hiring from outside the network.
- Annual profit distributions
Since the Company's operations are made possible through the assessments
provided by its Associate Consultants, the Company shares its net profit
annually with the members of the network in the same way that a corporation
pays dividends to its stockholders.
With the extensive opportunities that go along with being a D.L. Boone &
Company Associate Consultant -- proposal development teams, engagement
teams, recruiting opportunities, business development opportunities,
positions on the corporate staff -- you must by now be asking, "what's the
catch?" The "catch", if it can be called that, is this:
We feel that the best way for the Company to operate is to raise capital
from within, and to reward those who help the Company to achieve growth and
profitability. Because of that, each Associate Consultant will be charged
a modest annual assessment that will be applied toward the Company's working
capital. These funds will be used to support the Company's operational
requirements, including, but not limited to, compensating proposal
development and engagement teams, marketing the Company's services,
expanding the network both within the Washington/Baltimore area as well as
to other technology centers, and maintaining the personal profile database
containing information on all Associate Consultants. This assessment will
be set at $149.00, but is reduced to $99.00 through December 31, 1993.
For about the same cost as an annual membership in a professional
association, you can be a part of the most forward-looking concept ever
devised for the management and delivery of professional services. Unlike
membership in professional associations, becoming a D.L. Boone & Company
Associate Consultant brings with it not only the opportunity to network
with other professionals, but also to realize profit either through
participating on our proposal development or engagement teams, through
recruiting more qualified professionals into our network, or through
assisting the Company in developing new business. These opportunities
can be pursued on a full-time or part-time basis, and can easily earn
Associate Consultants substantially more than their annual assessments.
There will also be opportunities to join the corporate staff and contribute
to the management of the Company. None of these opportunities will be
yours, however, unless you join this fast-growing network.
We invite you apply to become an Associate Consultant. Send your resume
to D.L. Boone & Company at 8000 Towers Crescent Drive, Suite 1350,
Vienna, VA 22182, or call us at (703) 760-7875. We look forward to the
start of a continuing professional relationship.
