  13.        2        cup   Brown sugar - light - packed                      
  14.        1/8      tsp   Salt                                              
  15.        1        cup   Shortening - 1/2 butter/ 1/2 vegetable)           
  16.        3        ea    Eggs                                              
  17.        4        cup   Flour                                             
  18.        1        tsp   Baking soda - level                               
  19.        2        tsp   Vanilla                                           
  20.                       Filling:                                          
  21.        1        cup   Brown sugar - light - packed                      
  22.        1        cup   Water                                             
  23.        1        Tbsp  Flour                                             
  24.        1        cup   Nuts - chopped                                    
  25.        1 1/2    cup   Raisins - ground                                  
  26.        1        Tbsp  Lemon juice

  28.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  30.     Dough:                                                                
  31.     Cream sugar, salt and shortening. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift      
  32.     together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture.                     
  33.     Filling:                                                              
  34.     Mix sugar and flour. Stir in water slowly. Add nuts and raisins. Cook 
  35.     until slightly thickened. Cool                                        
  36.     Assembly:                                                             
  37.     Take two rounds of unbaked cookie dough and put a spoonful of filling 
  38.     in center of one cookie and put the second on top of the bottom one.  
  39.     Bake 350 F. about 12 to 15 minutes.
