  11.     INGREDIENTS ------------------------------------------------------------

  13.        1        cup   Shortening                                        
  14.        1        cup   Sugar                                             
  15.        1        cup   Molasses                                          
  16.        1        Tbsp  Vinegar                                           
  17.        1        Tbsp  Ginger                                            
  18.        1        tsp   Cinnamon                                          
  19.        1/2      tsp   Salt                                              
  20.        2        ea    Eggs - well beaten                                
  21.        1        tsp   Baking soda                                       
  22.        1        Tbsp  Water - hot                                       
  23.        6        cup   Flour

  25.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  27.     Place first 7 ingredients in sauce pan, heat to boiling. Remove from  
  28.     stove, cool and add eggs, soda which has been dissolved in hot water, 
  29.     and flour. Turn on floured board and roll very thin. Bake on greased  
  30.     baking sheet in moderately hot oven 350 F. about 15 minutes. Makes 6  
  31.     doz. crisp cookies.
