  13.        1        cup   Shortening                                        
  14.        1        cup   Brown sugar                                       
  15.        1        cup   Sugar - granulated                                
  16.        2        ea    Eggs - well beaten                                
  17.        2        cup   Quick oats                                        
  18.        1        cup   Cocoanut - shredded                               
  19.        2        cup   Flour                                             
  20.        1        tsp   Baking soda                                       
  21.        1        tsp   Baking powder                                     
  22.        1        cup   Gumdrops - (no licorice) - cut in small pieces

  24.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  26.     Cream shortening and sugars, add eggs, oats, cocoanut, flour, soda,   
  27.     baking powder and gumdrops lightly floured. Make in balls size of     
  28.     walnuts, press flat with fork dipped in milk. Bake in moderate oven.  
  29.                                                                           
  30.     Note: Moderate oven is 350 - 400 F.
