  14.        4        cup   Flour - sifted                                    
  15.        1        tsp   Baking soda                                       
  16.        1        tsp   Cream tartar                                      
  17.        3/4      cup   Lard and butter                                   
  18.        1        cup   Nuts                                              
  19.        1        cup   Dates - seeded - chopped                          
  20.        1        cup   Brown sugar                                       
  21.        1        cup   Sugar - white

  23.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  25.     Mix flour, cream tartar and soda. Combine remaining ingredients, mix. 
  26.     Let stand over night. Slice and bake in morning.
