  14.        3/4      cup   Shortening                                        
  15.        4        ea    Eggs                                              
  16.        5        cup   Flour                                             
  17.        3/4      tsp   Baking soda                                       
  18.        3/4      tsp   Cream tartar                                      
  19.        1        tsp   Vanilla                                           
  20.                       Filling - Cook together:                          
  21.        1        cup   Dates                                             
  22.        1/2      cup   Nuts                                              
  23.        1/2      cup   Sugar                                             
  24.        1/2      cup   Water

  26.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  28.     Make into rolls and place in refrigerator for a few hours. Cut into   
  29.     thin slices and place cooled filling between slices. Bake in a slow   
  30.     oven.
