  13.        1 1/2    cup   Sugar                                             
  14.        5        Tbsp  Water                                             
  15.        2        ea    Egg whites                                        
  16.        1/2      tsp   Flavoring                                         
  17.                       Cream of tartar                                   
  18.                       Banquet wafers

  20.     DIRECTIONS  ------------------------------------------------------------

  22.     Boil sugar and water without stirring until syrup spins a thread. Pour
  23.     very slowly over stiffly beaten egg whites and beat until smooth. Add 
  24.     little cream tarter, amount that will lie on end of knife blade. Allow
  25.     to stand a few minutes, then spread on banquet wafers and sprinkle    
  26.     with ground nuts. Put in hot oven to brown.

  28.     Note: Hot oven is 400 - 450 F.
