This my grandma Jenny's Banana Cake receipe, though it comes out a lot
more like a really moist banana bread than cake.
Grandma Jenny Bernstein's Banana Cake
-------------------------------------
1/2 cup soft butter
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup sour cream; (you can substitute plain or vanilla yogurt)
1 cup mashed ripe bananas
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Dissolve
baking soda in milk. Add to batter and beat well. Add bananas alternating
ingredients. Mix just until blended. Pour into a prepared 9" square pan
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 mins.
Alternative: Add 1 cup of chocolate chips to the batter just before
pouring into the prepared pan. If you add it too soon, the
chips all sink to the bottom.
Let us know how your family and friends enjoy this.
